Looking for a good keyboard and mouse

Hey there,

I am thinking about getting a new keyboard and mouse.I currently have a BENQ A800 PS2 keyboard and this generic Microsoft Mouse.

I am quite comfortable with the generic mouse touch/grip and I will be looking for something similar.

For the keyboard, I like having a large shift and a large backspace. I am thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard. I don't want anything loud and clicky, as it would annoy the hell out of me.

The store that I will buy the stuff from: www.alza.sk. My budget for the keyboard is up to about 70€ (might be even more if necessary). I am not sure about the mouse, but I don't want anything too expensive.

I think he said that because most people will probably advise you to get the Corsair K60/K90 as it's probably the best value for money mechanical keyboard.

I'd personally recommend any mechanical keyboard you like the look of and research/try out the different switches to see which one you prefer the most.

As for the mouse I have Steelseries Sensei and I would happily recommend it as a great value mouse.

What about the Corsair Vengeance M60 Performance mouse?

The K90 is about 120€. It looks good though. Gonna look at some videos about it.

The Logitech G710 caught my eye. It is about 160€ though. Is it any good?

Guys, what is the size of the L.Shift on the K90. On the box it shows to be a small L.Shift, but on some pictures I see that the L.Shift is large. Which one is it? This video shows a small L.SHift

The K60/K90 use the quietest switches MX Reds. MX Blues are much louder as they have an audible click at the actuation point. I believe some manufacturers attempt to quieten them even more, but I could be wrong.

Das and Filco keyboards are known to be good but they are expensive.

The K90 has some very nice backlighting and and great build quality.

The Razer Blackwidows are also pretty good, obviously more gaming oriented though. They too have good build quality, but are very plasticky.

I've also come across a Gigabyte contender in the mechanical keyboard market if you want to check that out although I haven't really looked into it myself.

Not sure on the M60 I have no experience with it.

EDIT: The small left shift is the UK layout and the large one US layout I believe.

I am starting to like the K90. The Steel series mouse looks cool as well. Which one do you have, the rubberized or the "smooth" version?

By the way, which version of the K90 do you have? The small LShift or the large Lshift?

After having a look at the Logitech KB, the only thing it really has to offer is that it uses MX Browns which are quiet tactile keys which some people prefer. Other than that it doesn't really look special. Oh and they've taken the volume scroller wheel that's on the K90 which is awesome by the way.

Just for your info the K90 isn't all mechanical, there's a diagram on the Corsair site showing which ones are and aren't; the majority are.

I have the smooth version. It's got features coming out of everywhere if you wish to utilise them, I've played around with a few when playing BF3 and it's pretty sweet being able to switch settings mid-game using the LCD screen on the bottom.

The K90 is a great board and I doubt you would be disappointed but make sure to explore all your options

About the Steelseries Sensei, is there a difference between the RAW edition and the "normal"? And is the mouse comfortable to use?

No worries.

Mine has a small shift as it is UK layout.
On a side note my bro has just got the Gigabyte Osmium and that too is great value for money. It is around the K90 price and all the keys are mechanical.

The Sensei is comfortable, it is quite a low profile mouse and I would probably recommend the rubberized version as it is quite slippy to hold TBH.

I checked with the retailer and the LShift is large.

How are the M90 and M60 mice from corsair. Are they any good?

I use the M60 - It's very nice. Incredibly well built and the software works very well.

I'd imagine the M90 would be the same - but the M60 looks cooler
