Looking for a 23/24" 1080p Monitor

Hello,

I've been looking around recently for a 1080p monitor to replace my current crappy tv. (The TV is good as a TV but not so good as a monitor as it gives a terrible image that isn't very sharp and has poor colour) So i was looking at an Asus 23" monitor. I heard somewhere that you can't go wrong with asus and i just wanted to check that.

This is the monitor i was thinking of getting: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/23-a...mi-dvi-vga-1920x1080p-250cd-m2-80m1-5ms-black

I was looking at an acer too but my brother used to have an acer laptop which didn't last very long and since then i've never trusted them so much: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/23-a...dmi-dvi-vga-mhl-1920x1080-250cd-m-100m1-5ms-b

Please let me know your thoughts on these and if you have any other suggestions it would be very much welcomed.

Pretty much all the IPS panels themselves are made by LG for 23/24inch screens - so whether you buy Asus, LG, Dell, Iiyama, AOC or whatever, you're effectively buying the same thing.

I'd say whichever is cheapest out of those really.

I use Iiyama x2377HDS's and love them really - but as I said, you're pretty much just getting the same thing whichever you buy.

Okay. Thats good to know. There is still the factor of build quality and all that, though. I don't want something that will break in 2 months ;)

Looks nice but what makes it better over the Asus for that extra £20?

Build quality of pretty much all the ones I've listed is fine.

The Dell is probably slightly better build quality - whether that's worth the extra £20 though I'm not sure.

The sheer amount positional adjustments this screen allows is worth it. The Dell monitors are solid.

They also boast a large amount of input channels, have a built-in USB hub and allow portrait orientation.
