Logitech G930/G35 Headset.

If you want to protect LOGITECH G35 & G930 sellotape the swivel joint for each cup. It looks like a small ball & socket plastic connection that'll break. I informed LOGITECH about that many months before the G930 released

You can't argue that the build quality on the G35 is flimsy. You'll find out, sooner or later...

£80 is worth it, for me as I've selotap'd the joint that looks like a marketing scam rather than an engineers' masterpiece. Mine is not flimsy. I do not twist it into shapes and it is flexible, springy and has not obviously degraded in the past yearish I've owned G35.

What will i find?

Thanks for the review like the sound quality is good and it isn't perfectly comfortable, still it is comfortable for me.

I'm gona email LOGITECH to know how the swivel joint is made. It's almost useless, I've sellotaped it to prevent it from breaking and the comfort isn't affected. The swivel is tiny.

G35 has metal extension thingys and thats a bonus cause many headset extension thingys have snapp'd

This photo shows the swivel joint. It's the black thing blocking the light shining through the gap. I don't know what it's made from and it looks weak:

This photo shows wht I did with the sellotape to prevent the swivel joint breaking:

This photo shows the metal extension thingy and thats strong though if the swivel joint is weak the object is defeated. It might break if drop'd:

The swivel joint is almost useless for me and sellotape makes these G35 at 80ish pounds a good buy for me.

It appeals many with its feature. built in sound card, G keys, voice morphing etc

otherwise build quality is good enough

good.

Since making those photos i removed the sellotape, wore the headset and found 1 swivel joint was used more then the other. I kept note of their positions and am securing them with electrical tape because electrical tape is flexible. It's holding well not allowint the thing to swivel.

This has made the headset a tad more comfortable and the comfort for me is good

it shakes with heavy bass like when next to an exhausting ABRAMS tank in Bad Company 2

Electrical tape looks a lot nicer.

Well, just putting in my input. Unless there's been a design revision, two G35s breaking despite taking the greatest care of them inside three months of each other is no coincidence. Everything else is nice but after a year *crack* and the headphone's dangling by the wire.

OK thanks

Where did it break?

We were both mortified when it happened, sure, but we got our money back, at least.

But like I said, the design may have been revamped. In ours, those parts were unbelievably cheap plastic and, if you can take my word for it, it broke despite me treating it like royalty.

Thanks. I will tape the thing to help it

Im gona unscrew the thing to see if the metal can be bent so it doesn't force as much pressure against the plastic when worn

EDIT: Done. I decreased the curve on the part that fits into the plastic thing that breaks. The curvature on that section of the metal is sharper than the rest of it wich will cause increased stress on the plastic. I've removed alot of pressure with what I did. My head isn't small. For a smal head I dont think doing this is necessary. The fit is more comfortable now as the cups aren't squashing on mu head. The result is a little less curve, mainly on the section that bolts to the plastic as first i nearly straightened the thing and it didn't fit, properly, it was bad so i adjusted it.

It's a dangerouse task as the wire is thin and short I kept the cup supported while engineering because the wire was all to be broken

I've had my G35 headset for just over a year and I disagree with all most everything you've slated them for.

The sound quality is v.good like you said for gaming, movies and music.

As for them being uncomfortable imo they are fantastic, I have played in gaming tournaments and lans with these on for 6-7 hours straight and have never felt any discomfort, and that is a true test of a gaming headset. A few of my firends have this headset and the only guy who complains about it being tight and uncomfortable after an hour or so, is the only guy with a pretty big head.

The mic is super clear when my friends and I are in our TS server, as 1 of my friends just got this headset for Xmas, and the improvement in his voice clarity is fantastic from his old Steelseries 3H's.

As for build quality.......1 year and no cracks, scratches or creaking and I'm not gentle with them, I normally toss them down on the desk when I take them off, so I can't really ask/expect a lot more from them tbh.

Good

When it was a tighter fit it cancel'd outside noise better. I'm not at LAN party's, noisy areas so that aspect is less essential though i expect to loose a little sound quality as waves will escape easier. beats discomfort. Is there an easy way to upgrade the foam noise cancelling ear cup things?

I don't know, perhaps I am used to ultra comfortable headsets, so when I get cheap ones I notice it more. Either way, I still have them since I wrote the review and they are still uncomfortable in my opinion. I am thinking of getting the Steelseries 7H since the Senheiser is out of stock.

I personally love my G35's they work well and i find them so be comfortable on the ears. The software is good that it comes with the fact that you can easierly disable there sound card is good, and the 7.1 surround sounds amazing. i've tested these for very long periods of time (20-30) hours non stop. with no problems. No sound leeks out when around my ear with is good stops brother raging at me when watching tv. only true downside for me is my G35 controller stoped working cause of my PC.

Edit: from what i heard the reworked the G35's early last year like march to fix the breaking issue.

I have a friend who just got the analog Corsair headset so he could still use his Xonar soundcard, and I have to admit they are a freakin bargin at £50, so I'm actually giving some thought to forking out for a gd sound card and a set of these, they are so comfortable and the sound is fantastic.
