Life Expectancy

Hello,

Currently running a Corsair AX1200i Power Supply which is 4 1/2 years old. I had the setup in my sig but replaced the Sli setup with a 1080.

Looking at a new Ryzen build later in the year. How long should I expect the current PS to last? Had no issue so far but I thought I could drop the wattage in the new build down a little. Would Sli 1080 TI be OK on a smaller PS? Say 850 range to decrease power consumption or is the PS consumption from the wall just related to what it needs and not what it can draw?

Would it be easier and cheaper to just stick to what I have?

HMMM, seems this PS is still quite current. That might answer my questions?

Cheers...

Stick with what you have.

Power consumption is actually lower when using a larger PSU as they tend to run more efficiently than a smaller one.

PC components will only draw what power they need regardless of the size of the PSU.
