LGA1155 Upgrade Clearance/Compatability

Looking at getting the following please let me know if I will have any clearance issues.

i5-2500K

Z68X-UD5

Corsair 8GB 1866MHz Dominator GT

Noctua D14

in a fractal define r3 case

You will have to take the heat spreaders off of the RAM. You're better off getting Low Profile RAM.

Just get the Vengeance low profile or G.skill ripjaws will fit.

Yes the g-skill fits fine under the noctua, i have the same setup and its fine.

Yup, the G.Skill RipjawsX and the Corsair Vengeance low profile will also fit. Another good kit would be the Kingston HyperX as they're low profile as well. The D14 will have no problem accommodating these kits.

Just a side not, the g-skill ram 1600 has great overclocking potential and looks great compared to other brands, and is also cheap as chips.

What if I raise the 120mm higher and make the ram fit? Will it work? Will there be enough room to close my side panel in the define r3?

What if I move the 120mm fan to the left instead of having it near the ram? Would there be any increase in temps?

As said you need different ram or it wont fit. Get Gskill or Mushkin
