So i have an old new system sitting here collecting dust waiting to be used, and i was thinking about putting it togeather out of boredom...maybe doing a watercooling build or something....its an older LGA 775 socket board and ram....but i dont have a working CPU, the E8400 i baught years ago when they first came out was faulty and the place i baught it from refused to offer me warenty on it, so i need to get a new cpu to get this up and running....any ideas on the best overclocking 775's out there?

The E8400 was one of the greatest OCing chips of s775. Shame it turned out a dud for you mate.

If you can pick up a D0 Q6600 that'll give you great quad core overclocking.

the best chips to oc where the low fsb ones from the 6 4 and 2 ranges as they had the 266 and 200 fsb.

the wolfdales (8 series) are also good clockers but you need a good mobo to really push the fsb.
