A. In general VGA and component are about the same in terms of picture quality. However, if you have an HDTV that only accepts a 1080i input signal, only the component connection will work for you. The 360 will not output a true 720p or 1080i HD signal over VGA, only computer resolutions of 640×480, 848×480, 1024×768, 1280×720, 1280×768, 1280×1024, 1360×768 and 1920×1080 (progressive). In most other cases the VGA connection provides more options, especially when viewing movies on DVD or HD-DVD.

Quite a few others say the same too

But wouldn't a screen that big ruin your eyesight as it would be to much close to you? Also, the desktop wouldn't be shown in full screen as the resolution of for ex the 8800GTX would not support the screens reslution or am I wrong. Having said so, I would like a 42" full HD as my monitor but I would have to stick and buy a 24" wide one :(

LOL,your a few months late dude :stickpoke

i dont use it as a pc screen, its purely for tv/movies,hd & console gaming

i have a 20" samsung lcd screen for my pc;)

get a proper lcd for you pc,20-24"(or a 30" apple/dell screen if ££ is no prob) and then have a big arse tv.
