Laptop?

Can anyone recommend me a nice laptop, of around £700-£800.

I've looked at the Sony FW series, and they look pretty nice.

Aesthetics are important to me, but a mac would be too in-practical, especially since the laptop will be my main pc.

If anyone has any suggestions, fire away please :)

Vaio it is.

Is there nothing else out there apart from macs that aren't made from plastic then? I have looked into it quite a lot, and only found vaio's, but I thought I had to be wrong.. Why does everyone love plastic so much?

Not that everyone loves plastic it's just it's cheaper and there isn't any difference, they both get scratched in the end :D. I know there is a few laptops which are metal exterior, it's just the norm to have plastic.

Despite the fact you don't want an apple, they do have the best build quality out there. What about dualbooting it with vista or XP? Are you planning on gaming on the laptop?

id get a macbook and dual boot like I do on my imac sometimes :)

I was against mac, as I would need the windows side of things, and it seems like an awful expense if I'm not going to use it as a mac. Do you have to dual boot, could I just load Win7 on there? If I got a mac, I really wouldnt use mac OS.

Dont even bother thinking about using a Macbook for anything other than OS X tbh. I tried and got so frustrated after a while.

- Macbook doesnt have 'Del' key. Backspace does the job on OSX..but not Windows

- Right click hardly ever works on Windows 7/Vista with the Mac drivers installed. (Makes deleting things EVEN MORE fun!!!)

- Scrollpad responsiveness is totally f*ked up in Windows.

- Doesnt suspend properly. Also takes ages to boot if you opt to completely wipe OSX off and un with just Win7.

Vaio Vaio Vaio..

Vaio it is then, with a nice copy of win7 when it comes out :)

Anybody know where I can get a similar bare metal/alu screen to match?
