lapping my cpu

i have just lapped my cpu and now my temps are higher than before whats going on there before was core0-42 core1-50 full load now its core0-46 core1-53 help please anyone

i have reseated my tuniq tower 3 times

Maybe you lapped it un-evenly?

maybe but i dont think so i followed the thread on lapping to the letter

A few factors to take into consideration:

- Ambient temperature is higher now than it was when you took the original readings.

- A new application of AS5 needs time to settle.

- Your IHS was perfectly flat to start with, and the temperature increase you are seeing is just down to the application of the new thermal paste.

Also check that you've lapped it perfectly flat using a sheet of glass. Let us know how you get on

Newly applied AS5 takes around 200 hours to cure properly.

erm obviously u got u`r cpu in the mobo and running now... but I`d suggest if u happen to take it out, take some pics (like the other lapping thread has) so the guyz can advise u better prehaps.

PV`s correct tho, most pastings advise a period b4 it gets to an optimum curage.

How are you getting on woppy? Have you seen much of a temp drop yet?

Using too much TIM is also a sure fire way of hurting your temps; I've seen pics where people have spread the TIM on like jam .

the temps did drop in the end i think it took time for the tim to cure
