In THEORY this is a simple job (But ME and Electrickery don't mix)

I Got a Laing DDC 12V ULTRA Pump which has these connectors

I Would like to connect these so only One connection is needed preferably direct to motherboard

IS it as simple as i think Providing the 12v, ground and sensor are connected correctly i'm not too bad at re-doing connections

In theory yes, but im not sure if the headers on a mobo will take the current draw of a pump.

= boom...

Right oh Didn't think about current draw  (i'll keep looking though)

Maybe someone will provide a Definate but so far it's

POSSIBLE 0-1 BOOM :D

Cheers for Speedy Response

Exactly what DDC is it? a DDC+1 Ultra @ 18Watt will pull 1.5Amps

Check your manual, it should say the max draw they can take, although I doubt they will be up to it

yea i'll give XMS a poke when hes free about the edit thing

yea have a flick through it although i very much doubt it will take 1.5A, max ive known is around 0.8, modern boards might have stepped that up a bit though.

I Think it may be a conclusive NO as i posted same Question on WizD got a negative on there too also, Typical, only AFTER i posted i found on other forums ppl saying its a NO Oh well.

Cheers for the input hope it helps somone else with the same idea.

It's a no. That's specifically why the DDC doesn't come with it all wired to one connector from the factory...

It can work but not directly with the mainboard

The only possibility for using a laing pump with a 3 pin connector is to connect it to a T-Balancer miniNG with Dual Mode

see link: http://www.t-balancer.com/english/index.htm

Quote from the page:

The miniNG is a great little product that offers a lot of features in a tiny package, not only is it powerful, but it gives the user the ability to fully configure their cooling solutions.

The controller can also be used to control water pumps as well, the miniNG can 'kick start' pumps that will not start at lower voltages. Having the ability to raise and lower your pump flow according to temperatures is something really cool indeed.

For someone that is into do it yourself systems then this is a great product, it is nice and small and can be hidden many places in your computer. I think water cooling enthusiasts will really like this product, I will be trying it with one of my pumps, I have a Laing DDC-12v, that does not like to start all the time when I turn the computer on, I believe the miniNG will solve this problem by throwing some more volts at it during startup. ThinkComputers give the mCubed miniNG fan controller a 9 out of 10 score, and our Recommended Award.

nice little solution I think

Cheers

Chris
