Hi guys,

Been offered a cheap Koolance PMP-400 with XSPC Resevoir top, just wondered if you knew whether it was any good, seems vitrually the same as the DDC 18w,

Just wanted to check if anyone had any words of wisdom before I bought it?

Heres a link to a description of it: http://www.pugetsystems.com/store/item.php?cat=Aquarium+Computer+Parts&id=5601&com=d41d8cd9

What kind of plug is that?? Looks like a fan plug... Would it need to be connected it to a mobo fan header or controller then?? :S

Regards

It is a Laing pump with a different lable matey ;)

Dont power from mobo though, just get a molex converter for it.

Yeah, thought so mate... :) Cheers. Which pump is it tho dude??? The pro, or the ultra...?

Edit...

Ahhh... U can get molex converters! :) Where would I get one from dude?

Scratch that too, just googled! Haha.

Cheers.

10w = pro - 18w = ultra.

Connector looks like 3 pin fan connector but theres no way Id hook that up to my mobo

I cant figure out what the three cables are for, obv the black and yellow are power... But what is the blue wire?? Speed controller??

If so, whats it for? Plugging it into a molex isnt going to do anything... Is it for plugging into a controller or something?? Hmmm.

Blue is a speed monitor, I always cut them off tbh, with laing and swiftech the black and yellow is on a molex, and only the blue is on a fan plug.

Just **** it on a molex adapter and its done.

The PMP400 is a DDC 3.25, whereas the DDC 18w "ultra" you buy in today is most likely a DDC 3.2. The 3.25 has a higher head and lower power consumption, both would be fine though
