just wondering how i should configure the fans in this possible case

so within the next month or two (seems like a long time, but ive been waiting almost a year) ill be building my computer. the Design list has changed multiple times and nothing is final until i build it. but atm, i want to use a Corsair 550D. i like the idea of silent and comfortable.

anyways, im debating between an H80 and an H100. i know that no matter my decision, its not really going to make a huge difference, but in a case thats not designed for air flow, im just trying to figure out the best possible solution.

Option 1: put an H100 in the roof as exhaust. this would probably lower temps (compared to the H80) by a few degrees however, i would have to take off that top panel for the exhaust, and that would allow slightly more sound out and slightly ruin the aesthetics of the case....now ill mention that im not completely anal about sound, but its the Con of doing thing Option

Option 2: put in an H80 instead in push pull. the temps would probably be a few degrees higher (compared to an H100) but it would allow me to keep that top panel on and preserve sound and aesthetics. this honestly seems to be the best option, assuming temp differences are something like 3-4 degrees and not something like 10+ degrees.

i should also note, that on Newegg, the difference in prices of these coolers is only like $15, so price difference isnt a factor.

also, i will be replacing the front 120mm fans with Cougar 120mm fans. as well as adding a Cougar 140mm fan to the bottom as an intake. if i use the H100, i will add another 140mm fan as a rear exhaust, otherwise it will be a 120mm fan for the H80.

as a side note, can anyone tell if these fans would be good to use on the H80/H100? or should i look for something else? and if so, what are some good quiet radiator fans?

whats gunna be in the case:

1 Ivy Bridge CPU, or the 2500k. depending on price and performance of the new stuff...OCed

1 z77 Mobo

16gb RAM (1600)

1 7850 or equivilent 600 series GPU (if out) possibly OCed in the future. which ever is better

2 SSDs

1 HDD

1 CD/DVD Drive

thank you for your help, time, advice, opinions, and knowledge. they are all much appreciated

great plan, until you actually pull the trigger. you'll teater yourself into an attack trying to figure what is

what to where until you actuall deside on the build.

case will be a key as well as the mobo/cpu/gpu choices

water cooling is not a necessity, it is a WOW look item. it is not a have to have item for cooling.

i started with a CM 212 fan and up'd to a Noctua NH-D14 on air, water cooling would help on narly

over-clock or a flow error in case.

cool z77, nice... it'll be a future thing to have, but like me i change so much, the next thing is not

impressive enought to sacrifice the cash loads to purchase.

z68/p67 should be coming down a bit for the release of z77, but there isnt any device ready to make

use of the technology, yet.

decide on your wants to budget ratio and it'll work itself out for you.

hmm. i suppose i could go with the Havik 140 instead. its good, its quiet, its cheaper. and i wont run into any problems of taking panels and stuff off....good call
