Personally, if a hard drive is clicking I always see that as a warning - kinda like the hard drive screaming "I'm going to die soon!" :|

Darn - Well, I've spent loads of money on getting this machine to work again.

New Motherboard

New HDD

New SATA DVD Rom Drive

Alot of money.

Shame that it's a good PSU - Unlucky me.

Is it a Sata drive?

I had some issues with my computer for a month or so and for the life of me I couldn't make out what the problem was as i'd changed every part.. In the end I had a thought when I was going to sleep to try and change the Sata cable.. Now it seemed to me that I was clutching at straws but it fixed the horrible whining noise my harddrive kept making.

Probably not the answer but just a thought.

I was wondering that myself. Is that Power the Perhiperals run off, if so.. we have the culprit.
