Just upgraded from a 7950 to a GTX 980. Any reason to keep the ol' girl around?

I just upgraded from my XFX 7950 to an MSI 980 gaming (tons of these particular cards floating around the second hand market right now... not sure why).

Gaming performance has gone way up, obviously. But I'm also doing more video editing these days (currently using Hitfilms 4) and starting to get into programming. I noticed that the 7950's FP64 performance is WAY higher than the 980's, but I haven't had a lot of luck finding out what applications use FP64.

So other than DX12's EMA (which I don't think will take off), is there any reason to keep the card around?

if you re a gamer, you can trow it away <------------
if you are a tech-lover, ... you are going to keep it without asking or writing this thread (direct comparisons are the goal, not gaming)

given you didnt instantly sell it to offset the new gpu..
Then you keep it. its just how its done, you can always tell family and friends with lesser gpu's that you have one they can have as an upgrade etc.

Good advice, all around.

I think I'm going to keep it around. I don't think I'd get that much money for it, given its age and its worth even less given its display output issues (it runs stable, but I get a lot of screen flickering, so it's only good as a second card IMO).

Thannks for the advice all!
