Hey, everything is ready for my leak check now

well except for jump starting the PSU, I haven't done this yet as on the Corsair AX850 all the wires on the 24 pin are black. So how do I know where the green (I think it's green) and the black wires are? All advice welcome, thanks :-)

if you hold the connector with clip side facing you then the green is the 4th wire along from the right hand side, the three to the left of that are blacks, and the pins can be shorted on either 1 of those.A bog standard paper clip should do nicely.

By black you mean braided cables?,if so either try and peel the braiding back or just make a small incision on the braiding where it wont be noticed, just to be sure.

Make sure psu is switched off when applying the jumping pins, and would pay to insulate it with some insulation tape.

Might sound stupid but i wouldn't like to get a shock off it,and you certainly wouldn't want it touching any of your kit either.

Hope this helps.

and the entire cable is braided however each individual that leads into the end clip have all black wire covers (not braided)

thats just heat shrink mate, the wire colours will be visible under that if you just put a small slice by the base of connector.

It just hides the horrible ends of the braiding to make it look more uniform thats all.

Here's a pin out:
