JDM_GT WC TJ11 AMD RIG

*drools*

Hey mate whats your opinion of the case? I am currently looking at building my own RIG in this case (looks like its popular down here in the land of Oz

).

Your build looks great mate I'm sure your one happy camper!!

ok now ive had it for a while, its the sort of case if you are going to watercool, "do it once do it right" because you have to fully strip the case down to change anything. and that takes like a day to do. i love it in so many ways but hate it how im not %100 happy with it, lighting is my issue atm cant find a balance of lighting, might go led white. one thing is there is hardly any room to hide cable and anything messy, sweat fa room behind the back cover, my suggestion is to only use 2.5" drives and dont use the hd cage at all, i think i might do that and make a nas with my wd 1tb blacks. i think for such a big case there is not much room which is a pity. on the other hand im always buying new stuff to fill it with, i like that part.

ps try buy it from a local store, postage would be a killer and not worth the money, im close to a umart. woot

Thanks for that mate, your opinoin of the case really gave me some things to think about. Just curious where you dead set on this case or were ther any other contenders that you think looking back now may have been a better choice?

I'm not thinking of watercooling ATM and people keep telling me I'm a moron for getting this case and running the rig on air (despite the fact that this is one of if not the best air cooling case on the market)

The thing is there are loads of other reasons I want it XL-ATX and E-ATX support (I've seen loads o people with the R3E in this case and it fits with no probs)

support, 9+1 expantion slots, watercooling options, USB3 all aluminium... and the list goes on. But at the same time it does have its limitations and although I think it looks great there are better looking cases on the market.

I've been loosing sleep over what case to get but keep coming back to this one, the only other alternatives I can think of are the Lian-Li PC80N and maybe waiting a little longer to see if the cosmos 2 comes out soon.

(looks AMAZING, http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/supercharge_your_desktop_these_dream_machine_2011_wallpapers).

Ahh.. decisions decisions ... this new build is killing me. lol.

But I'm ranting and off topic, your rig looks EPIC dude thanks for the feedback and hope to see more of your beast soon.

got the new board in and psu and sleeved cables, pics time.

when i first put the mobo in took me 4 hours to get my first boot. i had to put my hds in IDE mode otherwise it would crash like an unstable overclock, (got to the windows logo then crash) all good now.

mate there was no other real choice, i was looking for about 2-3 months for a new case but nothing that would suit my needs stood out then this was released and bam had to have it. there is soo much potential for this case in modding so the future always looks bright, its definitely a case worth to have for some time, but other cases i do like are nzxt phantom, corsair 600t, the raven series, and i like most of the bitfenix cases. but for watercooling tj11 wins hands down, can fit a 560 and 280 rad with no modding. and the usb3 cables are good on this case with the 90o mobo just sits ontop. less cable mess inside.

wow this is epic, where did you get your sleeving done? im really liking that fact that you cant see no heat shrink? I want my cable like that
biggrin.gif

Sexy beast on the sleeving. I see the colours come out of the PSU at 1 Black : 1 Red, was it by chance or intention that they terminate at the 24-pin 2 Black : 1 Red, molex 1 Black : 2 Red?

you should change the fans for some of these http://specialtech.c...-pid-13565.html they'll fit in with the rig much better than your current fans
smile.gif

my rads are 560 and 280, need 140mm fans, not really anything out there much better than the silverstones, you cant really see them unless you have a uv light infront of them so im not worried atm.

im trying to think of little mods to do. any ideas you guys can see? thinking about putting in some barriers made from a mirror.

cant find anywhere in Australia a pair of 6990's really thinking about the gtx 590 now, but the the research ive done seem to be a pain in the ass with such early drivers, so instead i bought a new camera, canon 60d, so nice pics will be the norm, now i just have to learn how to use it. hehe

UPDATE: got 3x amd 7970's all HIS brand, dont have enough sleeved cable to power them all so i used the stock cables, doesnt really bother me cause in the tj11 they are really short route, ill get some pics up later.

I took out the 3rd card aswell because it was doing nothing and i wanted my sound card bacl in and my amd fx 8150 is bottlenecked hard, 1 card scores around high 9k in 3dm11 and 3 is only around mid 13k, same cards using an intel 3960x is about mid 22k. going to get a asus R4E and a 3930k, and going to get waterblocks for all my cards with the single oi plate,

Awesome parts mate, cant wait to see the three monsters on a rampage IV extreme with a 3930k in a TJ11, this is going to be gooood

cheers.

not too sure how long it will be, just put my eye on a set of klipsch reference speaker set, real keen on getting those first, ill prob get the blocks on the 7970s first then upgrade a bit later.

Im a member of overclockers Australia. a member there did it for me. that cost me around au$120 i think. Best job I've ever seen.

Its just epic
biggrin.gif

is that MDPC-x sleeving or Kobra sleeving? looks like MDPC-X, i might have to experiment with left over bits i have to get it like yours, its just too good
