JackyBoy's WaterCooled PC

no, you can only turn it 180, putting me in exactly the same position! I'll just order the asus NB1 from aqua pc 2moro as ive missed delivery now.

but anyway, thanks for the photo tip, here's all the photos :D

Heres the Maze4 block with those damn capacitors in the way, so im getting a friend to desolder them and move them. lol scary but it needs to be done for the good of my computer!

Nicely lapped CPU :D

Then this is the problem with the SB block, as the gfx block is actually resting on the barb on the sb block:(

DSCF3487.jpg

But it is very close to being finished, i just need this new block. The acrylic for the side window has been ordered too! so should all be done by the weekend...hopefully :p

Will post more pictures once its up and running, thanks for reading

looking incredibley sexy there, you doing anything special to the case???

And btw, what 8800 is that? the OCUK one?? if so, how does that block fit? I'm going to be buying one myself soon so was wondering how it fits.

Cheers bud

Keep up the good work

edit : Just read its the ultra, but im assuming the gtx and ultra cards are the same in design, as in, reference design, right??

and are you sure that block cant be spun 90 degrees? looks to me as if its square and the mounting holes are square... :S

Yeah, the case has had 2 extra holes put in the top of the back for the extra pipes for the 2 radiators, and that bracket is going on the outside so thats all being fixed on.

also the side panel has had a hole cut in it for the window. but im taking my time so it's not looking over the top modded, but just looking nice.

its the EVGA ultra, and yeah the block fits good, a little scary to put on as it gives warnings like "dont do up too tight otherwise the board will snap" lol and yeah, its actually the 8800 GTX block, but they fit exactly the same

and no it cant be spun 90, becuase there is only 2 holes on the block and 2 holes on the board :( wish it was that easy!

cheers steve! :D

and i was just about to say "no you cant becuase there is only 3 screws" but actually looking at the photo i see there is 4 screws, so i'll give it a go when i get home from work. If it doesn't work though i already ordered the new block which is sitting at home ready:P

edit: just realised that if you do spin it 90 then the mountings will be in the wrong place :( but like i said, ive got the right block at home (hopefully!) so i will just use that

Ya mean Bungral ;).

It should work... You rotate the acrylic 90 degrees and then move the block around as well.. I think.

lol yeah, sorry i only read one name. but yes, bungral :P, ill have a look when i get home, but i dont think it will work becuase moving it 90 will sort out the problem of the barbs, but then will put the mountings on the bottom right and top left so i dont think it will work, but ill give it a bash :D

if not theres a Asus 4 nb/sb block for sale lol

Ahhh yeah just had a little think and you would need to spin the block 90 degrees also which would leave you in the same position as before....

What you would have to do is unscrew the barbs and take the acrylic top off and flip it upside down and then re-mount it. That would fix it I think.

Just like ya say as you have the other one it's not a problem. Still try though... Interested to see if it works.

yeah thats a good idea actually! i think it would mean it was slightly on the skew but still worth a try though, hey!

I'll take it apart and take some photos of the findings

One more thought though... It will only work of the bolts holding it down aren't counter sunk.. If they sit of top then it's doable but if they are sunk then it wont work.

Well i thought i may awell just use the new block as it's easier...or so i thought! 3 damn capacitors were in the way becuase this block is slightly bigger, so i had to get the dremmel out again and carve a bit away. you can kinda see it in this picture

i swear something is trying to get me to not watercool this pc! but its all sitting ready to have the pipes put on and filled up, im really excited to do it, but im sooo tired so i will do it tomorrow!

and just another pic of the graphics card sitting in it perfectly now!

P6120032.jpg

Right, got some more things done, but sadly not as much as i would have hoped...

Well to start with here is the physX card with the newly placed capacitors :D

P6130036.jpg

So i can just fit the block on there fine now.

But now the problem. Everyone said when i started this "Make sure you order too much tubing 'just in case'". So i ordered lots of it, 15ft of it!!...well it's not enough is it, im about 1 ft short, can't believe it. So I cant order any till monday so i was going to have a look around B&Q or some aquarium shops to see if they have any, or if there is anybody in the midlands with a spare foot of 7/16th...:p

But anyway here's a pic of how its currently looking, can't wait to get liquid in it!

P6130034.jpg

notice the 2 extra self made holes in the top at the back too :D

Stay tuned for more updates, and I always appreciate the comments and suggestions so keep them coming :)

Outstanding build log.

/interuption

What`s the deal with the physx caps ? Is it a repair job cos the surface mounted ones were busted ?

/end

Cheers Rastalovich, and the PhysX caps are in the way of the waterblock that I'm putting on it, it had a stupidly loud little fan so i thought i may aswell wet it while i was doing the rest :p

But now i've also realised that i need to dremmel a bit out the little platform that seperates the psu section and the main section becuase the low profile maze4 isn't has low profile as i would have hoped :p

Right!

Got nearly everything done now! yay! The only thing left to do is the case window but that's not top priority number one, leak testing is...:P

So i thought i would upload some pics on it nearly finished and then go downstairs and start testing :)

PhysX with the block on

And the backside of it

The hole i had to cut to make the maze4 fit in without bending the card

Then with it in the case

and of course so you can see all the advertising too!

P6170044.jpg

And the the (rubbish quality) biggy!!

P6170045.jpg

That's what it will pretty much look like when its finished, but not eveything is secured fully yet and the side isn't on, obviously, so i shall take some more photos when it is leak testing and some more when it is finished :D

thanks for reading

As promised, just a sneaky leak test photo :P

P6170048.jpg

Can't wait till i can plug everthing back in and get gaming again, and then overclocking of course!
