Well most of it arrived, so i thought you might want to see what i have got!

Heres everything i got so far

EK FC8800 Ultra Block

EK Supreme CPU Block

EK SB Asus 4 Block

EK NB4 Intel rev1.1 Block

2x EK-Mosfet Asus3a Blocks

2x Laing D5 Vario

ThermoChill PA120.3 Radiator (The ACTUAL one used in the CustomPC Review :P)

XSPC Bay Reservoir

9x Xilence 120mm fans

Feser One UV Blue (For the Intel loop :P)

Feser One UV Green (For the Nvidia loop :P)

15ft MasterKleer 7/16"

All from Aqua-Pcs. Who are absolutely fantastic btw.

What else needs to come (from somewhere else sadly...)

1x ThermoChill PA120.3 Radiator

1x XSPC Bay Reservoir

1x Maxe4 (For the PhysX :D)

and that should be here thursday...well bloody better be! lol

I would like your opinions on what should go in each loop. What i was thinking was:

Intel loop:

Q6600

NB

PhysX

SB

Nvidia loop:

8800

Mosfet

mosfet

What you guys reckon? Any suggestions appreciated.

JackyBoy

Some more photos just becuase i had taken them :)

And that's what Roger Clark Motorsport did to my case for me, it is so thick, would have taken me flipping ages to do with a stupid dremmel, they have pneumatic car cutting tools, was so much easier :D so some perspex will be going in there.

Thanks for reading my Essay. Comment!! :D

My other radiator, and res came today :D and my Maze4 for the PhysX should be here tomorrow.

just sadly i completely forgot about hose clips or anything to put over the tubing and barbs :( and i wasn't supplied some barbs with the res when i think i should have been. So if i order them tomorrow they prob wont get here till tues! which is really annoying. its only like £6 worth of stuff!

What do you recommend for the clips? there seems to be 3 i would choose from:

1. Crimping type

2. PVC hose clip

3. Jubilee

I like the look of the crimping type, but how well do they actually work?

cheers, JackyBoy

You are using 1/2" barbs with 7/16" tubing, you don't need clips. Simply dip the end of the tubing in boiling water for ~30 secs and slip over the barb. When it cools it is a tight seal.

I have done this with all my builds with no issues... I guess zip ties could be used if you insist on protection but bareback ftw

...tho after 2 kids...i choose zip ties too.

and after my insides taking a bath I'd go with zip ties at least........

although Mr Smith is correct just don't leave the side off with a 1year old wandering about.......

Well i recieved the barbs fine. but as i was cleaning all the blocks, i had a look at the EK NB4 Intel, and realised it wont actually fit on my NB. the EK compatability pdf says its the NB for my mobo. but its not :( so i dont really know what to do atm. guess ill just have to buy a new block for it and hope it fits, i think the EK NB asus 4 will fit. will look into it more though.

Just annoying i researched and made sure and i still think its wrong...

why not? surely the heat dump of the CPU and GPU will be greatest? so them two on different loops will be good i thought?

If its not then thank you for your advice, but i just wondered why :)

Well yes if they were two dedicated loops. But theyre not, youre running NB, SB, mosfet and phys blocks, all of which are adding restriction which will slow the flow through the two biggest heat dumps. Especially the mosfet blocks in the GPU loop. There is no configuration possible with two loops and all those blocks that will allow for big overclocks but by keeping the flow in the blocks that are actually doing any good you should be ok.

Aaah i see what your saying. Yes thats a very good point :) it probably will be best to do it like that. thanks for the advice :)

I noticed their compatibility guide seemed a bit dodgy when I was looking for an SB block fora striker II extreme.

Exactly!

Right ive got everything sorted now, everything is sitting at home, even ordered a lapping kit :p so on tuesday (in glasgow at the moment, fly home tonight) i will be taking lots of photos and letting you know how i get on. my first plan is to attach the rads on the outside of my case...hopefully it will look good :yumyum:

Just to keep people updated, ive started putting things in my case, but i just tried fitting the Maze4 to my PhysX and 2 capacitors are in the way!! so i have to unsolder them and move them somewhere else! which should be fun :p

ill try to post some pictures later

Right, so ive started to put it all back together today (my birthday!) because i very nearly have everything done now. So i was going to have a big picture update, but the uploads bit seems to be down for me atm so i'll put them on later.

but anyway, the water blocks are on everything, the bracket to hold the radiators is finished, and the pumps are in place. but when i was putting the gfx card back in the motherboard i noticed it can't actually go in because of the barbs on the SB block getting in the way :(

so this means i have to take the motherboard out of the case again, and buy and fit a new SB block, one where there isn't a barb in the top left hand corner of it, so thats a great birthday present, finding out i have to buy another block!

but i shall try and post the pics later :)

can you not spin the block around 90 degrees or is it not square and the mounts are funny???

If not, thats a bit gay tbh, nothing worse than knowing you have to spend mroe money,

BTW, use photobucket to upload pics, easier and quicker
