Has any one tryed or know the result off cooling an qx6850 and a 8800 gtx with a single 240 black ice stealth rad?

Thinking of doing this but dont know if it will cool it by much. Advice please.

Massive amount of heat your trying to cool there... We always suggest for a Quad/8800GT/GTS/GTX setup that you go for a 360 radiator at least (or if you plan to use a bigger Thermochill a PA120.2)

I'm not saying you wouldnt be able to cool it with a 240 GT Stealth, but they are a slimline radiator to start with and not built for major performance, if you run some nice air movers on there it should be ok but can't gaurantee the temps being all that great.

I have a silverstone TJ07 case and i dont really want to do some serious modding to water cool it. So was just going to fit a stealth rad at the top. Might have a look at a 360 see if it will fit. The thermochills are too thick to fit in, shame as i have all 3 versions from my previous rig.

I have a Thermochill PA120.3 in the bottom of my TJ-07 and it fits nice and snug with the HDD cage still in there and the PSU plate installed on the other side. I can provide pics if you need proof

No probs at all mate. I'm just about to plonk my new CPU in so I'll take some pics whilst the case is open and then post them here for you.

You got 1 hard drive cage becasue i need both in there?
Yep I have only 1 cage in the bottom, but if you want to include more HDD's then you could look at getting one of these from Silverstone. Not really my cup of tea but if you need to accommodate a 120.3 rad and more than 3 HDD's it's really your only option.

I have a Swiftec 2 x 120 (next best performer to the Thermochill) but allot smaller. If it’s any good to you and want to do a trade for your Thermochill 2 X 120 let me know.

I thought black ice rads were better than swiftech!
Negatory...Thermochill and then Swiftech!

This is what i found, but i couldn’t fit a Thermochill in my case (to long, the thickness was not a problem) i am going to replaced my backup drive with an external one so a Thermochill will then fit.

The gap at the top is about 3mm

hows that mounted?

I made the two brackets out of aluminium the same width as the bay so i could use screws through the drive day mounting holes to firmly secure it in place.

If you do a trade these will be no good to me as i will need wider ones so would include them in the trade?
