my rig:

Asus P5N-E SLi, 650i chipset

intel Q6600 stock clocked

XFX 8800GTS 640MB stock clocked

2Gigs of DDR2 Cosrair 800mhz

500GB 7,200RPM HDD

Windows vista ultimate 32bit

All is air cooled.

so basiclly, yeah, i know my rig isn't really fast now, but i wanted to know if 4158 is an ok number to be getting on 3dmark 06?

settings: all i changed from the default settings is the resolution to 1680:1050.

please let me know if this is ok, as i am going to upgrade to a gtx 260, and want to be sure that there isn't any problem with any of the other components of my machine.

thanks in advance for any input here :)

Leave the rez at stock and run it again mate. Its a big variable and will effect the score dramatically. Report back with that score.

so do you think there might be something wrong with my system??

because the card tempatures seem fine (60-70 on full load).

I'd expect a lot higher then 4k, I get 11k with my rig at these speeds and I'm only on a dual :o

Yes it is overclocked, but he has a Q6600 which is without a doubt a much more powerful CPU and his GPU should be more powerful as well.

well, i also thought my drivers were crap or something, but i already tried every driver i could think of, tried deleting them in many different ways, also reformated my computer because of this just a few days ago, and now i'm using 180.48 drivers.

also, when i play call of duty 5 it doesn't really matter what settings i put it on, it runs about the same - CRAPY!!

and what is CPU and HSF Seatings??

thanks for the help everyone btw

Are you sure your PCIe slot is operating at 16x You score should be double what you are getting imo.

Check with CPU-Z.

ok, so this is what cpu-z shows me in the Mainboard tab:

Link Width: x1 Max Supported: x16

i think it's fine, let me know.

That's not fine at all pal^^

It should read

Link Width: x16, Max Supported: x16

You need to change the PCIe bus to full-speed, it's absolutley crippling your card.

which slot is the card in?on my old lanparty if i had my card in the bottom slot it would only work at x1 but if it was in the top slot then it was full speed

it's on the top one. and i entered my bios just now, didn't see where i could choose what width, but the graphics was set to PCI instead of PCI-E so i changed it now, but it still shows 1x on width.
