I want to know if anyone here has first used 144Hz monitor at 144FPS and then used 144Hz monitor with Gsync or Freesync at 144FPS and if they saw any difference.

I feel some of the people flipping out about it stepped up from 60hz panels. Moving from a normal 60hz to a normal 144hz panel is a huge change alone. I wonder if some are giving more credit to these technologies then they deserve.I am not trying to discredit the technologies I am just curious if some of the hype is just peoples first experience with 144hz

At very high refresh rates + framerates the returns from freesync/gsync diminishes. If say you're playing at 144hz and your gpu is churning out 100 plus fps then you technically might not notice any screen tearing though it happens. These artificats do happen for sure when there is a refresh rate mismatch. How much of it you notice is the real question and at higher framerates(along with higher refresh rates), it is hard to notice.

Now say you have a 144hz monitor and your gpu can only put out 40 - 60 fps in witcher 3. Thats the time when gsync/freesync makes an impact. Keep in mind that at the point when your gpu is churning out like 50 fps, a gsync monitor's refresh rate(at that point) is 50 hz while a non gsync monitor's refresh rate (at that point) is 144hz(for this type of monitor). The elimination of this mismatch removes these artifacts such as tearing or stutter and at this framerate, you would notice these artifacts.
Hope I've shed some clarity to your question.
