IPS x2 white colour problem

Hi guys!

So basically i bought two LG IPS234Vs and set them up and stuck them next to each other, dulicated the images on windows but for some reason the colours on them seem to be a bit different, mainly the white it seems to be more bluly white on one and creamy white on the other not a major difference by themselves but next to each other quite annoying...

i think i prefer the bluly one but i checked all the setting on the screen and they appear to be exactly the same so i dont know whats up?

any help would be appreciated!

It might be something to do with one of the monitors. Try using the same cable for both at the same time and report back with the results.

So yeah i tried DVI-D cables in both, hdmi in both, seperate, mixed cables etc still the same so i contacted the seller who told me he would give me a refund for 1 or both of them but i got them so cheap (75 each) i dont feel like giving them back lol so i contacted LG and this is what they said...

1:18 PM : Hi I recently bought 2 lg IPS monitors and no matter how I calibrate them the whites are different
1:20 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Right okay, how are you connecting them?
1:23 PM : One appears to be a cooler white the other a warmer white I've used windows calibration as well 3rd party calibrate and on monitor control neither whites will look like each other
1:24 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: how are the two IPS monitors connected?
1:25 PM : To a 260 gtx on my pc with dvi cables
1:26 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Are they both connected at the same time using a splitter?
1:27 PM : No different dvi ports on the same GPU
1:27 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Ok, and what was the model number of the IS monitors?
1:28 PM : Ips234v
1:29 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: And they are both the same model number yes?
1:29 PM : Yes
1:32 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Ok, Please ebar with me
1:38 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: I believe that this issue is being caused by the fact that the DVI signal is being "Split" between the two monitors. As such it will not give an identical colour configuration from both video sources.
1:40 PM : I doubt that as I've swapped the cables over and run them by them selfs but they still retain the respective hues
1:42 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Ok, please bear with me
1:47 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: I believe that this is down to the individual Hue of the screen, it is not something that can be changed or altered, but sadly it is not considered a fault either.
1:49 PM : Well that's seems pretty terrible considering IPS are meant to be good colour reproducing but both tell me white is a different colour...
1:50 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Sadly , I am unable to assist you further with regards to this monitor, When did you purchase these units?
1:51 PM : About 3 days ago
1:51 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Ok, and what retailer did you purchase them from?
1:51 PM : A online retailer don't have the name on hand
1:53 PM TV, Monitors, AV and IT Support: Ok, as you purchased these 3 days ago you are entitled to return the units to the retailer if you are unhappy with them, within 7 days of purchase.
1:54 PM : Well thank you for the lack of help can't say your company ethos is very endearing to a customer, have a nice day

Is this true do some monitors from the SAME range just have different hues?

Same problem here on two Benq 22" panels, hooked up on DVI.

I figure it's the card itself, because most cards have one dual-link DVI and one single link. Could be wrong, but I've just learned to live with it.

you probably did so already but did you factory reset them

and

in nvidia control panel, under display, sub "adjust desktop color settings" make sure that all the settings are same. use the nvidias settings and adjust the sliders to be same on both monitor settings, aswell as make sure that hue is at 0* and diital vibrance(gtx460) is at 50%

apart from that you might want to check the driver settings under each screen, doubt that its the case but windows might have spazzed out a little.

it could be solders or pins dont have good conduction which create anomaly but thats very unlikely,

tried diffrent gpu? setup altogether?

if else fails, do contact the seller and ask for a replacement im sure if you bought it from a place like ocuk then they wont make any problems.

I was in the same position...
With iiyama 23 inch IPS panels which use the same screen as yours...

I deduced my main problems down to one being a different batch number, or a minor panel revision. I bought the first screen 3 months ago, and the second 2 weeks ago.

I then decided to buy 2 more straight away from the same supplier that I got the second from so I could at least be sure they're the same model number.

All my screens now are identical - ie - same batch number...
but - I still have very minor problems with one of them not displaying the same colours as the other 2 - but I've put this down to HDMI.

Depending on what graphics card you're using - it may put the HDMI display as HDTV and so restricts you on certain settings you may use to adjust the DVI monitor.
Basically, make sure your screens are the same batch number - no idea how you'd check, I only knew because my stands were slightly different. And then try and put the displays through the same outputs - preferably not HDMI.

Cheers i think your right the closer i look at them the more i realise that besides the different whites they are perfectly fine and pretty nice too but as i said i find it a tad annoying i will keep playing with them and then i will buy a calibrator if i cant find a setting i like...

anyone here used the Spyder Pros? or any similar calibrator?
