I like everything in the 2nd choice except the Asus mobo. I am not a big fan of Asus. Abit would be my suggestion.

i can get 2.8ghz on my asus and 3ghz on the dfi. the asus requires no work whatsoever (tweaking) and im lazy ;)

Asus's are the leader in stock performance. They rip through benchmarks like bats out of hell, at stock, with the competition at stock.

At overclocking, they're good. They're a good board if you already have it, to OC with...but I wouldn't go out and buy specifically ASUS when you have your mind set on getting a leet oc.

That's when DFI comes in hand. MSI's higher-end lines also overclock very well.

Me & Davos, have had great luck OC'in our Intel's on my old board, and HG007 got his Giga-Byte with a VIA Chipset to 250 FSB which is, quite hard to do.

Actually the A8N-SLI Pre is now the best OC board... for now

I think your referring to Shamino's benchies? Yeah they're good but the DFI boards have produced better results in higher amounts... :)
