right guys this is a similar problem to dlads but not quite the same!

my problem is that a have a really bad feelin that my internet is capped really bad! and that i am getting traffic shaped!

my problem is that at night time my download come down at 800kb/s on 8meg broadband but when i do this in the day time my downloads dont like to go above 10kb/s each

this is every single day using exactly the same settings tested with 3 files(left runnin all day) today they had been stuck at 10kb/s each but from 12:30ish am they then flew upto 800kb/s between the 3!

this is not settings problem in utorrent this has to be my isp traffic shapin me even my internet on its own is becoming laggy compared to night time!

will upload a test for the daytime to show u in the mornin

just wondering what i can do to stop btinternet bullyin me around like this??

i guess you are using ADSL???,if you are then usaly from 3pm to 12am they are nown as peaktimes I.E more ppl are using the service=slower speed the times and speed change can altor but thats generaly the case.another note is that torrents can always change regardless as they use other ppl's connections, and also if you are using a download limit say 8-6Gb they tend to slow you right down at certain types of the day (peak times) its even the same if you have unlimited as very few ISP are TRUE unlimited.

hope this helps

tried enabling encryption in preferences? - some ISPs can still detect it, but may fool btinternet...

yes like i said i think i am being traffic shaped really badly but my original intended question is what can i do to get bt to stop limiting my bandwith? what can i say to them on legal terms?

i mean it isnt funny when my web pages aint loadin correctly!

ther is jack all you can do in legel terms as if you read the fine prine with the * symbol or the little cross it will say 'fair usage policy' what that is is upto them so it seems you are usig or at your limit mate.

AHHH if its bt then you are foobared mate, BT are one of the worst for filtering packets anyways. If you have been using utorrent alot you are lucky they havnt just turned off your accoutn tbh.

Phone up and see if you can get it reversed, after that look for a new provider as BT will be watching your usage like a hawk.

yer thats true as if they see some one DL massive files (games, films etc etc) they will become suspicius whitch may be what are they are doing with you, like tiny said scrap BT off they are expensive and give a norm level of a service, sky and VM IMO

or google 'TOP 10 braodband' and its the first one, you enter your postcode teliphone number and it lists the best ones for you and maps out how far the teliphone exchange is and what the fastest internet you can receive.

Torrents are a nightmare mate, they cause no end of problems. Most ISPs are getting pretty heavy on it now. Theyre easy to track and cause people who dont know what their doing a world of speed issues. I wouldnt even bother trying to resolve it. Uninstall it and subscribe to a newsgroup and get yourself a rapidshare account ;)
