i had a problem today and im not sure what it was, i asked the guy that built it if he knew but he wasnt sure, if it did it again he would look into further

anyway basically the problem was I had the pc on maybe 20 minutes, I was browsing on Firefox and it just randomly faded to a black screen and switch itself off, but it then restarted itself but didnt actually do anything? didnt get the beep or even to the HDD raid screen or past the bios screen to windows. So i switched it off again (only way i could was by holding the power button down) switched it on again and it seems fine now?! would anyone know what went wrong?!

anyway after that happened i open up that prime 95 program which i just downloaded

I ran it for 30 minutes at 4.2ghz ( i realise people run it for a number of hours but i dont have time to leave it for 24hrs yet)

I used cpuid hardware monitor to record the temps, although it seems to bring up the Max values on the fans wrongly and also on the cpu & socket, the cpu always says 60c across the board regardless lol and it always says 127c on those 2 after a while so wether the software is accurate i dont know

It never went above 61C on a core, i even used that asus program to monitor temps too which never went above 62c.

The value's currently showing are after letting it idle a couple of minutes

I would just like to know if my PC is ok and the temperatures are fine? Im fairly new to this PC stuff and it randomly switching off on me has made me a bit worried lol

sorry for the big image

The shutting down is probably just a unstable overcerclock.

For monotring your temps try using RealTemp LINK

Also make sure you are using the latest version of Cupid HWM LINK older versions will give wrong readings.

If they are still showing the wrong temps then you probably have a faulty sensor on your motherboard.

sorry to be a noob, whats LLC and how do i adjust it? lol

Load Line Calibration is a setting in your bios [setup page accessed on startup]. Enabling it will allow the voltage to decrease when under less load and increase when under more load - so it greatly aids in preventing surplus volts going through the component when it doesn't need them [which can cause instabilities]

it only gives me options of auto or % increases, its under Digi+ VRM if that means anything.

its Asus EFI bios too if that helps

Regular 0%

Medium 25%

High 50%

Ultra high 75%

Extreme 100%

Ive also found a Digi+ WRM Frequency thing which has an option to enable Spread spectrum which says it increases stability?

Keep spread spectrum disabled. Set LLC to 50% and then bump it up to 75% if still having problems.

If the problem persists, raise the CPU voltage by 0.01v.

If you're still having problems then voltage is likely not to blame

also thank you sieB for that temp program, the HW monitor i have is already the 1.18 version.

also what is TJ max and should i set it?

by air you mean air cooled? or is it soomething else? Mines is watercooled but its a simple sealed unit you just fit, antec 620, Il upgrade later on

Yeah I mean air cooled, but you're not going for anything major with the water, so it should still be fine at High.

I meant it as a reference point
