I've popped on here to try and get myself back into the mix with new systems and upgrades as i'm slightly out of date. I come from the era of the magical Q6600 (SLACR) for those that remember and the Q9650, DDR2 and a spot of watercooling.
Having moved to the i7 CPU and DDR3, I bumped into several main differences, I guess the learning curve eventually turned into a learning circle and now i'm back at the beginning again
Currently, i'm running:
Xigmatec Midgard Case
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R (Rev 2)
i7 950
24gb Corsair 1600 C9
1kw Xigmatec Modular PSU
HD 6970 2GB
1TB Samsung F3 HDD (Storage)
Corsair SSD 120GB Force (Boot)
Samsung DVD-RW
Nothing special but it does the job. The aim will be to beastify this little baby and go from there
Actually I know TTL from another forum and occasionally keep in touch but I'd like to show everyone what I'm up to.
I'm 32 and work within a large PC retailer as a techie/supervisor (changing role shortly) and i've been working with computers since I was 18. I can build a system with my eyes closed, but I'm no expert in the art of overclocking and my capabilities seem to concentrate more on software repairs and diagnostics than anything else but I hold my own when I need to. It's all gravy.
Well, that's my intro, it's a pleasure to meet you all and hope to speak to you all soon!
Regards
