Ok so im testing out this Inno3d GTX 285 and about to overclock it so according to Inno3d website this should be the card specs.

Core clock - 648mhz

Memory clock - 2484mhz

Shader clock - 1476mhz

Now what it shows on mine is this

Core clock - 648mhz

Memory clock - 1242mhz

Shader clock - 1476mhz

Now note the memory clock is being shown as exactly half on mine? not sure why. Could anyone help? Ive checked with several programs all showing 1242mhz on memory clock. Why is this?

Even when I try to use msi afterburner to overclock only shows 1242mhz, so half of whats stated? im not exactly sure whats going on if anyone could help would appreciate it.

Also Msi afterburner is not showing my shader clock at all so I cannot overclock it? is the shader clock attached to core clock on the gtx 285? and they scale as one kind of linked overclocking?

I'm not hundred percent sure, but I think video card memory works in the same way as ddr RAM in the sense that the video memory used runs at a "double data rate," which essentially means you have to multiply the value by 2 to get the actual memory clock. GDDR5 basically = Graphics double date rate 5.

If you use CPU-Z and check the frequency of ddr ram you will see that it shows exactly half the clock speed.

So in conclusion I don't think you need to worry, unless someone else has another/better explanation.

yep, nothing to worry about dude
