Hello Everyone!

I was wondering:

What is the difference between the P67 GD-53 and the P67 GD-55?

They are different prices so I was wondering why.

I'm curious because I'm looking for a mobo for an i5 3570k but not too expensive.

Hey welcome to the forums! :)

From what I can see the GD55 has better on board audio and 8-pin CPU power where the GD53 has 4pin so I'm guessing the GD55 is aimed more towards the overclocker.

On the site that I checked it also said that the GD55 has SLI/CrossfireX support but it didn't say that on the GD53 though I'm assuming it does. If you want to be sure; check the MSI website

Enjoy your stay here!

Well, imo... All onboard audio is quite... bad. Any cheap sound card will be 10x better so if you go with the GD53 you might have some money left for one?

Considering you're buying a 3570k (K stands for unlocked) I was assuming you'd be overclocking. If not you could go with a regular 3570 and save 10-15 quid :)

Well I've got a sound card anyway so thats not a problem :)

Yeah, I'm aware and I will be overclocking. So would the GD55 be more overclocking friendly?

How high do you intend to overclock? It is more overclocking friendly yes, but if you're only going like 4GHz I guess the GD53 would work.

I'd personally grab the GD55 though (well, out of the 2. I'd go Z77)

Okay, Thanks for the help!

I'm not going to start my build any time soon so I'll bare that in mind!
