ideas for a new rig?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at building my first full custom rig with watercooling, and was wanting input on any changes to specs, and also some ideas for some names. It is going to be a predominantly white, black, and red themed rig, so will need a name that will justify these.

The specs so far are;

Intel i5-3570K

Asus Maximus V formula (when released)

Corsair Vengence RAM 8gb 1866mhz

Corsair 600T white

corsair AX750 (would an AX650 be enough?)

Asus Nvidia GTX 680 2gb

full watercooling for motherboard and CPU but not GPU, this includes a 360mm rad in the top, mentioned in one of Tom's videos on the 600T

mayhems red coolant, black tubing

noctua NF-F12 fans through case

Samsung 830 SSD 256gb (I want to just use an ssd in this rig, and it needs to be reliable)

and windows 7 home premium 64bit

any input from you guys would be useful, and I will of course do build logs as I go

Looks like a very nice rig you're building. I guess the AX650 is enough, I have 660w Seasonic PSU and I run an oced 2500k and a 6970, both of which draw more power than the componets you've listed

If you wan't a relieble SSD go with a Corsair Force GT. Other than that the AX series by corsair is a great choice.

I have a BFG LS680 at the moment, but It isn't modular at all, so it is a complete mess in the back of my thermaltacky case :/ I was going to go with a Force GT, have they fixed the problems in the firmware for them that caused loads of BSODs? thats the only reason I put the samsung on the list instead of the corsair, cause of what I've read about them.

The Samsung 830 is one of the best SSD's out there. Tbh the Samsung performs a tad better overall too so he should stick with it

I would suggest mayhems black coolant with red tubing and intel 520 or Samsung 830 other than that it looks good to me

I was contemplating using the 650d, but putting a 360 rad in the top would be a bit too much of a challenge for me I think, whats your guys opinions on this? a black and red theme, instead of white, black and red.

anyone got any input on other cases that would work well with this sort of rig, would have to be able to fit a 360 in the top, with a little modding, but nothing major?

guys would there be much of a price difference between the maximus v formula and the extreme? contemplating the upgrade, then just having the 360 on the cpu, which gives me the option to upgrade to a waterblock for the GTX680 in the future, opinions?
