i7 cpu help + memory

Hey guys ive been to alot computer stores around perth and ive notice that the i7 950 has dropped dramatically its about the same price as the 930 BUT is the 950 a CO or a DO processor? if its a DO then ill jus get the 950. + is the patriot viper 6gb memory kit any good? ive got 3 kits in mind

Corsair dominator gt 6gb kit with airflow fan

G.skill Ripjaws 6gb

Patriot Viper 6gb

Also is it bad to go with a 4gb memory kit because my motherboard is triple channel can i upgrade later and a another 4gb to make 8gb? ahh confusing

the 930 is still a very good overclocker for its price i would get that over the 950

and I would go witht the corsair RAM

the 930 will clock very high fella under the right circumstances,so its better to go for the chaeper one

rampage 3 gene or formula (the formula probably wont be coming to aus)

Well you can never be sure on that as every chip is a different one,

you even might end up with one that is a very poor overclocker (al tho i hardly can believe that with the i series !!)

But that said those parts you listed are definitely ready for it

But that said as well i do agree with AMDFTW get the cheapest one alright !

i7 950 is a factory D0 stepping, and its replacing the 930.

ok then so the 950 would be the better option but can it overclock aswell as the 930? to be honest I havent seen many people with 950s making any serious overclocks (correct me if im wrong)

just get the 930 fella that replaced the 920 and i think you will find nearly evry i7 owner has a 920 or a 930.

dont get the gene as its a microATX board and you may struggle with room for GPUS and that cooler,have a look at the p6t deluxe or the P6X58D PREMIUM

have a look at the cooler master ATCS 840 over the raven,some say its the best case ATM (for air)

other than that it looks solid

i7 930 it is!

but to be honest i really want the formula but its not out yet out in Australia. I already have the raven so I cant change. hmm maybe I should just get the extreme? although im not a hardcore overclocker, but i want very good performance, since the motherboard is 90 degrees so everything is horizontal so I could have just enough room for everything.
