Hi everyone

I asked Tom too many questions regarding OC on YT channel
wink.gif
(Im sorry for that) and I bet he was saying: "omg, wtf another noobish OC "player" haha anyway Tom send me here to ask more quesions if I need more help
smile.gif
so here I am.

Test system:

i7 980

Asus P6T Deluxe V2

12gb ram corsair dominator 1600mhz C8

Corsair H70 push pull

Corsair AX1200

2 x 580 sli

BIOS settings so far, stable in prime95:

CPU ratio x 21

Intel SpeedStep Disabled

BCLK 200

PCIE 100

DRAM DDR3 1603Mhz

UCLK 3200Mhz

CPU voltage 1.24375 (CPUZ showing 1.248 at full load)

CPU PLL 1.88

QPI/DRAM 1.30

DRAM Bus voltage 1.66

FSB:DRAM 2:8

Memory set to auto: 9,9,9,24,88,2T

I have few quesions guys if you dont mind
smile.gif

How I can improve this system?

If I choose in BIOS XMP-1600 profile with 8,8,8,24,41,2T settings I will see any difference?

XMP-1600 will setup QPI on 1.35 is it not to high?

What CPU speed I should have to do not bottleneck two 580 in sli? only for gaming.

What is max safe vcore for my CPU? I want to OC more but should I stick with 1.3 max?

Last question
wink.gif
I know I have crappy H70 cooler and before I will buy a decent kit from specialtech what are max safe temps on H70 I can live with?

Thanks

CPU PLL 1.88 maybe it could run at 1.84-86

QPI/DRAM 1.30 up to 1.35 is fine.

DRAM Bus voltage 1.66 1.64 should be fine

FSB:DRAM 2:8

Memory set to auto: 9,9,9,24,88,2T

Up to 1.35v on cpu with a good cpu-cooler,but you need a better cooler, like noctua nh-d14
wink.gif
or a good wc-kit.

Safe temps is up to 70c with any cooler.

Have you tested with linx or wprime95 or both?

I have linx and wprime and prime95. Only tested witn prime95. How to test in linx?

My Corsair H70 is closed WC loop system but sometimes get hot inside the case

soon some upgrades.

Ok I know h70 is pos but at the moment this is what I have and I need to fight with. Temps Max 65 on one Max core so its fine for me now.

What about this ram? Do I need to setup tight with 8,8,8,24,41,2T and use this xmp 1600 profile or not? Also do I need to rise qpi too to 1.35?

Yes manually set this 8,8,8,24,auto,2T,1600mhz in bios.1.64v should work.Dont use the auto set xmp-profile.

If qpi is stable at 1.3v i would leave it there.Lower volts=low temps.

Hi guys
smile.gif

Sorry for few days of quiet but I had some personal problems (not PC) but Im back
smile.gif

I setup ram 8,8,8,24,auto,2T and 1.64 on ram and it looks stable. I will do more tests on the weekend.

Today I recived new WC for CPU
smile.gif
. I ordered from specialtech XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 WaterCooling Kit : RS Series Kit. It should be fine
biggrin.gif
. Why this kit? I just dont have more money to spend on upgrades
sad.gif
so I will post some benches, scores etc with new WC on the weekend
smile.gif

I looked at those kits but the Pump and Resi has been skimped on, No compression fittings:(, DDC 18W pump Is about the best Pressure pump for multi Blocks / Rads, D5 for fast flowing and looks but slows down with many blocks.

Make sure you setup the pump into the PWM on the mainboard CPU and make sure you set it to 500Rmp or less the PC shuts down, If the pump dies otherwise you're PC will fry before you notice.

The best item to not skimp on in any watercooling Loop is the pump, Remember that and you can't go wrong.

Natashaful there is only molex connector and I cannot put this on pwm on motherboard also how to adjust pump speed if its inside reservoir?

What is correct wc order on this kit? Hot water from CPU going to radiator or reservoir?

CPU - radiator - reservoir,pump - CPU or

CPU - reservoir,pump - radiator - CPU?

Res > Pump > RAD/Rads >CPU >GPU(If you have one) > Res repeat is the supposed most optimal route, Honestly makes near no difference from experience, It's like 1-2 C between them.. Whooped Doo

Women knows best, Nice shiny compression fittings make them joints look big and bold, Unless you like stream line look, His/Her to their own, I don't like Barb clips, And i know you don't need em if you use 7/16 tubing on 1/2" barbs But SOME of us lack the muscle to push them over, I can barely even fit compression fittings.

Hi all again
smile.gif

Everything is fitted now and looks like this:

dsc03522sg.jpg

dsc03529xb.jpg

dsc03544t.jpg

Also on Sunday I pushed this CPU further and I got it to 25 x 192 = 4800 at 1.46250 in bios. I couldnt get it stable at all at 24 x 200 I think this CPU dont like even multiplier or something
smile.gif
and finally I got it to 25 x 200 = 5Ghz

all this with 12gb ram
biggrin.gif
not 6.

Question:

How I can pass 4.8Ghz? 25 x 193 doesnt work should I try 25 x 194? or 4.8 is max on water if we talking about 12 threads?

Thanks ladies and gents for all help
