i7 2600k Gigabyte vs AsRock vs ASUS (Red vs Green vs Blue)

Out of those the UD7 followed by the Asus P8Z68 Deluxe. The sniper is far to much money for what it is and isn't actually that good, it's only selling points are the XFI sound card and NEC chip which also aren't really worth the extra money.

The UD7 is the best board on the list and also upgradeable to PCI-E 3 with Gigabytes new BIOS update, Asus and the rest havent mentioned being able to do this on their boards but i'm pretty sure they will. Also remember the UD7 is E-ATX so make sure your case choice can fit it, the Deluxe is also a good board, not as good as the UD7 but it's still one of the best Z68 boars and is standard ATX.

I would pick the ASROCK as they usually do good boards but for some reason people don't like them. All I know is that they usually overclock like a beast!

I am tossing up between the Z68X UD7 and the Z68 Fatal1ty.

If I go with the AsRock, then my build will be red, with red watercooling, etc.

If I go with the Gigabyte, then I can choose any colour I want. The UD7 also does not have that annoying VGA built into the motherboard...

The Asrock will give you more money to spend on other components

Which motherboard would you recommend for an i7 2600k watercooled, overclocking to 5GHz+

Gigabyte G1-Sniper2 - $449

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 - $365

ASRock Z68 Fatal1ty Professional Gen3 - $269

ASUS P8Z68-DELUXE - $319

I think it's already been said that the G1 Sniper 2 was a waste of money.

I think the UD5 is a better choice, UNLESS you plan on doing some REALLY SUPER DUPER MAJOR overclocking.

I would not recommend ASRock because it's always seemed like ASUS's unwanted step brother.

I ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z is a better. Its not only cheaper than the DELUXE but it's smaller and it still uses the z68.

Just my opinion.

I am planning on doing really high overclocks.

The Gene-Z is very small... which I dislike
