Hi everyone,

This is my very first post on the. I've been watching tinytomlogan's videos for a while and decided to register an account on this forum.

My question is a simple but confusing for me. Earlier, I received advice not to use 1.65v ram with an i5-3570k. So, I did some shopping and found a deal on G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Memory from NCIX

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57953&promoid=1145#Specifications

Would I have any problems running this memory with an i5-3570k on an ASUS Z77 Sabertooth motherboard? I realize it's 1600 and 1.5v but it's designed for P67 and Z68 chipsets.

Thanks =)

P.S I watched Tinytomlogan's Gskill Sniper SR2 1600mhz 8GB Review on YouTube and he mentioned 1.25v but I realize my ram is slightly different.

So I checked the RAM and came up with compatible versions G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL(XMP) but not with the F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL I'm disappointed =(

So I went and checked on NCIX and the Manual. Noticed the Sabertooth Z77 states compatible with Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 (black colour) however Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Blue is not listed. The ram seems almost identical other than the price and colour.

Blue Corsair Vengeance
Black Corsair Vengeance

Things aren't as easy as they were with the Socket487 and LGA775 =(

lol, dont look at the QVLs...That's just where manufacturers pay to get their products listed...

If it's DDR3, it will work - excluding buffered server memory that you shouldnt be looking at anyway.

Just some may work better than others - like you've said no more than 1.5v for Ivybridge.
