i5 3570k for £82.99?

Just resell it if you actually get it!

Also, note on the relisted item:

'please only bank transfer

i am trusted seller check my feedback

ask me for bank details

Thanks'

Iffy. Really iffy.

I've seen a few examples of a Ebay seller listing stuff for dirt cheap and then dragging feet on refunds. A mate of mine ordered a 660ti for £80 and it took the fully 45 days to get his money back.

That's what puts me off of stuff like this tbh. I simply don't have the funds lying around to chance my arm for starters but then at the same time I'm not one to jump on human mistakes either.

The original said nothing about that though. I've paid through paypal, as I'm sure Josh did too.

If there's no contact, paypal will sort out everything for us.

If anyone does bank transfer, then I can see refunds lagging then.

Yeah think I will give it a miss to be fair just incase, would of lived to have picked one up tho haha

Lagging? fact is mate you won't get your money back.

Not sure if you use AVforums at all but whenever a scam goes down on there using BT people never get their money back.

Bank transfers are not protected at all so you're pretty much sending your money into the abyss.

You guys on Paypal will be fine though, it can just take a while.

Erm, you aren't protected by ebay...
But you are by the law - but it would be up to you to pursue it if you bank transferred.

Considering he'd have to give his name and account details in order for us to give him the money in the first place, it wouldn't be hard for anyone to open a small claims case, and you'd get the money back through the law.

Obviously that's far more effort than it should be however - and if he's international, that's when you've pretty much lost anything.

I've seen quite a few cases of the bank pretty much telling people they're screwed tbh.

They just simply say that you agreed to the T&C when sending the money so there's nothing they can do..

I have seen cases of it going to court though (I love reading the disputes on Avforums  ) and if the person has the money the court can get it back.

The problem is you're usually dealing with criminals so you just get a letter telling you the person is a drug addict and thus, you're screwed.

That's what happened to me when I was hit over the head and some human skid stain took off with my bike. They caught him, arrested him... Never got the bike back or any money.

Oh well - no 3570ks for us :)

Hey, anything is possible... I bought my 3770k for £160 off the Gumtree brand new from some Australian guy who quit his PC build. CPU works A OK. In-fact, it's running at 4.6Ghz as I speak.

Still waiting for PayPal to clear this up. I imagine that it's going to take the full 10 days of no response from the seller/scammer before we see our money again.

Ah well, nothing lost but a little time :)

:( sucks when there there take there time giving the money back, but really fast at taking it, i wonder why?

Just got to allow for people not checking their emails all that frequently, I guess. They give the guy 10 days to respond to James and I's claim before they take more steps.
As far as I know they've seized the money from him and it's in their possession, but they've got to make sure that our side of the story is true.
