Do Bose make any decent cans for this sort of thing?

I know they had some in PC World a fortnight ago, quite cheap compared to Beats but they would of just been music.

Tried out the Bose home theatre system...holy s***! Too powerful at home though, no need for a push bike going over gravel to sound like an earthquake.

Bose are good, but they're very overpriced.

Beats are terrible by the way - massively high bass levels so it suits modern music, but absolutely nothing in mids/highs.

I actually like Beats, I think they do a good job of not overpowering bass (I'm comparing music to a home theater though) but I guess there will be better out there!

But if anyone can recommend some good music cans thats great. I did almost buy myself some new Beats but I don't actually know the benefits over my SoloHD set.

Once the gaming rig is done I will have to take a break from buying stuff, I need to save for a motorbike next!

Grado SR60i or SR80i are about the best you'll get for a reasonable price.

The Bose portable headphones are good too, but as I said earlier they are overpriced.

Go to PCWorld, most if not all stores stock every switch in at least one model.

I've recently switched back to Blues for gaming due to Arma3. Precise movements are not good with Reds/Blacks. Also the key caps on the Corsair range are pretty bad, very slippery too. Not sure if they've improved them for the new range or not.

No point getting a decent set of headphones without an Amp. Get the Essence. I use PC360s, quality sound, extremely comfy, built in mic and open-back.

I've had a think and now I'm not so sure I want to spend a lot on a keyboard. To me it's just a set of keys and I've gamed on basic keyboards before. Even CS: Source in college on your standard Dell. :')

To be honest, stuff has obviously changed since I was last into gaming since I don't know what mechanical keyboards are!

Shame there is nowhere close to try it. They might have stuff out at Scan which is 40mins away but PC World a;; that kind of stuff is boxed up I think, plus PC World will add another £100 on.

We aren't suggesting buying the stuff from PC World! (We'd never tell someone to do that )

The packaging normally has holes so you can press a couple of the keys (normally the arrow keys) but it at least gives you a feel of what they're like.

If you've got the money, I would recommend going for mechanical - although you really don't need to spend anywhere near your £150 budget that you said previously.

Most of the new Corsair series will be fine, and they're only £70 or so - Same with the CM Storm Quickfires.

When I'm out and about I always go into the local PCWorld to check out their peripheral range just to eye up new products. They've come along way in the past year in this department. Just have a look.

I would definitely consider a Mechanical keyboard. I made the switch (excuse the pun) recently and I won't ever be going back to a standard keyboard. I'm using red switches.

Small keyboard, nice feeling when keys are pressed, and I can't comment on the mouse but it looks nice!

No hating on Apple, I love their products.

The keyboard is actually okay for typing. Not ideal for gaming as you can barely press the keys. The mouse is horrible though, really. The shape feels awkward and the scrolling wheel is... not a scrolling wheel.

Would still recommend the Roccat Kone XTD over anything atm. I personally love their peripherals.
