I know not which sensor to trust

I have been getting some strange readings from temperature programs, so I put my CPU back to stock speeds for experimentation. I used PC Probe 2, SpeedFan, Core Temp (I never have trusted it with Quads), and Intel's Thermal Analysis Tool. Just wondering, is TAT for mobile CPUs only? Anyway, the readings I got showed me that PC Probe and Speedfan are looking at one sensor, and Core Temp and TAT are reading another. What I have heard is that Core Temp on the Quads reads from the sensor that counts down to the point of thermal shutdown, not the temperature sensor, a glitch that will be hopefully repaired. The question is, which is accurate? Q6600 at stock speeds, idling with an Antec Nine Hundred case, Zalman CNPS9700 HSF at ~42 C according to Core Temp and TAT, ~32 C according to SpeedFan and PC Probe. 4 iterations of Prime95, ~50 C according to PC Probe and SpeedFan, ~60 C according to the others. Check out the screenshots.

Personally I trust Core Temp as it reads direct from the CPU's diode as does TAT, which is why thy're so close. PC Probe reads from the motherboard sensor which is a complete waste of time,

I have my Q6600 Folding at 3.2GHZ and Core Temp and TAT show the hottest core at 67° :(

This seems to be in line with the temps your'e getting at a lower clock.

ya id trust tat or coretemp but speed fan reads right for me to i got a tj of 85c so temps show up right on my e6600.
