I Just Can't Help Myself!

Got the Q6600 and the GTX460 up and running to try to hold you off a bit longer. Took them forever to get working together though, some config setting got screwed up from an old video card and I had to delete the F@H folder entirely to fix it. Haven't got around to reinstalling Windows on it yet, it still has my friend's 4 year old Vista install on it

No more messing with the setup until the 5 mil mark, unless the Q6600/GTX460 underperform for some reason. Also gave my GTX275 and 9800GT another 100MHz on the shaders.

EDIT: Hehehe, nope, the GTX460 is pulling 9600PPD now, and the Q6600 is functioning properly. 650K points to go!

I almost want to not even play games on my 2500K so the points will come in faster!

The CPUs are on their way from America so it could take a good bit before they turn up.

I also have a 500gb drive on its way, the dual xeon system will either get that or the old 200gb drive that's in my main PC.

Once I hit the 5 Million mark I might have to back off on the folding a bit. I just got blaimed for a high electrisity bill.... it couldn't possibly be the hallogen heaters that have been in use LOADS could it. Oh no.

Yeah, I'm slowing down after 5 million as well. Heat + saving money on power bill so I can pay off a few bills that have been nagging me. But not until 5 million, that's for sure.

I think VoraciousGorak has me beat now. Going by the stats he is set to hit 5 Million in 2 weeks and I am set to cross his path at 1.5 weeks.

but......

That's with my numbers tracking a bit higher than my average and his daily average is below what he is now doing.

Might just be a photo finish on this one.

Oh and my two quads are on the way from the US so that might take a bit of time and knowing my luck customs will stick their nose in

Edit:

I have now lost full use of the Q6600 and 8800GT while my Dad is back from work (he works in Luxembourg and is home +/- 4 days out of every 10).

I might just have to squeeze that last bit of overclock out of everything.

You're gonna have to, at our current average performance levels I'll be crossing the finish line about 70k points ahead of you

... I can't rule out a retaliatory overclock though, I know I have a few hundred MHz out of most of my CPUs. They'll need some voltage to do it though.

Brothers PC is getting plugged in.

It's only a 3.1ghz i3 (sandybridge) worth 5k to 6k PPD and I only have it untill friday.....

Going to need all the help I can get

That's the spirit!!

You know you're hooked when you borrow rigs left, right and center for as much CPU time as you can get..

Really have me scraping the bottom of the barrel here....

Bringing up a Pentium D 925 + 8400GS now. If it's worth 800PPD I'll be surprised.

Going to have to get one of my dads laptop on the case. It'e either a X60 or X61... If I can find somewhere to plug it in :s

Edit:

An X61 with a T7300 (2ghz C2D - 4mb cache)

Edit 2:

and it's been given a 1500 base point work unit. I'll be suprised if that finishes before I have hit the 5 Million point mark

Likewise with the Pentium 4, but for other reasons. I have it set up headless, so when I came home and smelled a funny smell I tried to VNC into it and couldn't. So I hard powered it off and turned it back on, and the temperatures were reading 80 degrees C after turning it off and back on again in SpeedFan after I got VNC back up (before F@H was even running!) God knows how hot it had been running all day. So it's idling now in the high 60s, I'm not even gonna bother messing with the cooler and hoping it even finishes its one unit on time. The 8400GS keeps plugging along though.

I also failed to convince my friend to let me run on his 2500K + GTX470 for a while, too, so you're currently favored to cross the 5 mil mark first.

My dear wife managed to shut off the F@H on her i5-750 overnight too.
