I dont understand if a website is down or just me.

is the error i get when trying to get onto Overclockers.co.uk
ive never come across this and all google brings up is DB stuff, could someone educate me on this.
(i tried on my phone through wifi and 3g and got the same error so i assume its the site, and im trying to get there through chrome).

I had the same problem with Steam the other day and I though it was just me but it turned out Steam was down.

Thats because these sites just ping the server, same as typing ping google.com in cmd.

It wont show if there is any error stopping the site working.

All there data is stored on a mysql data base (products and so on) error just means connect to that databases was lost, this is server side and not your pc.

Mysql errors are always server-side and if it's something like what you said, they're database for the site has turned off, or gone pop.

Bad form to show this to the public, must be said, they should have error templates in place to cover this.
