Hello every one i've spent 2 days looking for an answer on Google but no luck and as every time i've had a problem some one on here has helped me out i thought you might be able to help me out again!

On my main desktop PC when i type "ipconfig" in CMD there is no local ip, i found this out when i was trying to test out an application called "power-grid" also i tried looking in my computers network devices and the router no longer shows up.

Please help
many thanks
Luke

Do you just type in ipconfig or are you using any of the switches, like connection name or /all ?

Check that you are not using an IPv6 address

Can you screen print your CMD details?

What do you connect via, an ADSL /cable router or ADSL Modem.... some service providers do still use the modems.

is DHCP enabled on your router / modem etc?

Sounds like you have a modem but no router to me.

I have my cable modem but then Ive got a Netgear router where the ethernet comes IN to the router and then that sorts out all the internal networking firewall etc etc

Either DHCP is fuqed on your router or you don't have one.

If you do have one try resetting it to its defaults/ Firmware reset.
