Hybrid Memory Cube

While some people are waiting for DDR4, probably next year or so there is something more exciting looming at the horizon.

It's being developed by Micron, Samsung and IBM.

But the weird thing is it's not new because Micron and Intel were working on it in 2011 and had a working prototype.

Not sure what to make of it but it seems Intel is not working on it anymore.

Guess we'll have to wait and see ...

Could be another RDram sort of fail.

Man, that was such a major clusterfuck of epic proportions! :banghead:

Every time I read a story about Rambus I just feel like they took every
asshole and idiot on the North American continent and employed them
at one single company (wouldn't that be nice, then you'd at least know
where they are  ). A hilariously and infuriating excuse for a company,
that is. At least that's the impression they make every effort of projecting.

sorry, /rant

ontopic: Hard to tell if it will be successful, but I have to admit I'm very
fascinated by the technological concepts behind this.
