Hey guys, I've just installed HWmonitor but in all programs and the start menu the icon itself is not appearing as it should. Is this a known issue?

I'm running windows 7 professional (64bit).

Cheers.

Pin it to the desktop from the instalation folder.

Meant to say Start Menu

If you used the shortcut it makes on the desktop to pin it to the startmenu when you delete the shortcut the link is broken and thats why it will show no icon.

This topic must seem stupid, I know.. but its just annoying. From a fresh install I've left the shortcut on the desktop then I've gone into the folder of the program in my computer.. From there I pinned that to the start menu and task bar and then deleted the shortcut from the desktop and then the icon losses its image of what it's meant to be... ? It seems as if the shortcut has to be left on the desktop for the programs icon to appear as normal? have you been able to delete the shortcut from the desktop and still retain the icon image? I only delete the shortcut from the desktop because I prefer a clean desktop with as few as possible icon's.

cheers.

I just deleted the shortcut from the desktop and then pinned it to the startmenu from the install folder.

The only time I have had that prob is when I have pinned it using the shortcut from the desktop.

I'm still experiencing problems..? Do you think I have to change any admin settings to my comp? anything I might have missed on?

Cheers

Should this be installing to my windows 32bit section or my 64bit for windows? I just let it install as per normal.

possibly windows features? I was just looking through control panal for programs..

if you go to the app and pin the icon should stay the same. if you pinned fron desktop shortcut it can change the icon.

oh and please edit posts instead of 3 posts in 5 mins lol kinda frowned on

I've done that and its not working for me.. Im just really intrigued as to why its happening on my computer.

Try right clicking on the shortcut on the start menu and select properties, then click on the "shortcut" tab and check that "target" is right, it should be

C:\program files\Cupid\HWMonitor\HWMonitor.exe

Also check the start in box is correct as well, it should be

C:\program files\Cupid\HWMonitor\HWMonitor

Apart form that I can't think of anything else.

fixed!!... all I had to do was change the icon to the other icon the program has a option to be then I changed it back and its stayed
