Ok, here are my new PC specs:

Intel QX6800 CPU

Arctic Freezer 7 Pro (Suffix? Do I need to watercool it?)

Asus Striker Extreme 680i

BFG 8800GTX OC2

OCZ 2GB PC2-9200 Reaper HPC Edition DDR2

Samsung SpinPoint T HD501LJ 500GB SATA-II

Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Soundcard (PCI-Express)

Thermaltake W0116RB 750W Toughpower Modular PSU (Is it suffix? Any better solution? Will buy this from SpecialTech)

Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case

Since I just ordered my components, have received some parts today, but I still have a chance to get my refund if there's a problem.

My main concern here is the cooling & PSU. I've been struggling to make decision on these 2 items.

Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Cheers ;)

looks very nice, just get water cooling if the temps on your cpu are really high.

Are you planning on overclocking alot?

Not now.

I build this PC mainly for PC gaming. Since I'm going to use it with my 19" Sony TFT (Don't think it will look good on my 50" Plasma, lol) which only has a max. resolution of 1280 x 1024, thus it should be able to handle most if not all the games in the market now with max. setting. :D

I just can't overcome my phobia of seeing liquid running inside a PC, lol

Yes, i can see where you are coming from, i was just looking at a thread in the rig gallery, where someone was running water cooing without clips on his hose, oops. But i didnt leak, if you do water cool it you will be able to overclock becuase it should eep it all nice and cool.

You can also get non conductive solution, but really i guess if it leaks you are pretty buggered!!!!

ThermalRight Ultra-120 eXtreme or Tuniq Tower are currently the two highest rated CPU air coolers.

Google for reviews.

ThermalRight is soon to release the IFX-14.

I know they are good, but I think the recent Custom-PC has done a HSF shootout of these HSF including Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. They are pretty much the same performance.

Anyone here ever used Arctic Freezer 7 Pro on a QX6800?

Tuniq Tower and the Thermalright do seriously own :D

Ok, I'm getting worried of using Arctic Freezer now...

I bought the Arctic from Yoyotech, does Yoyo provide a hassle free return policy?

Cheers

PS: So seems like no one has any complaint about Thermaltake PSU that I'm going to use ;)

i just ordered a osz gamexstream 700W i hasnt come though the door yet but has some pretty good reviews, what does the rest of you think, olny problem is it isnt modular.

Ye the OCZ Units are pretty solid mate. In fact Tagan (and therefore SilverPower), Atasis, Zippy, PCP&C, Enermax, OCZ, Silverstone (Zeus) are all great makes

Just not TT tbh

Meh use at your own risk tbh

No way would a TT PSU come anywhere near my rig

Period

Geez...I'm lost now. So should I go for TT PSU or something else? I have another PSU in mind, Enermax Infiniti 650W. Should I change or stick to TT since I'm not SLI it yet... :S

Neither. Get a Corsair HX 620W

Plus if you go for a Tagan or Silverpower, you have the support forums just a click away ;)

As already said, the ThermalRight and Tuniq coolers would be brilliant choices. Also if youre in the USA you could try one of those EnzoTech coolers that FragTek is rocking atm

I think I will go for Enermax Infiniti 650W & has just returned my Arctic Freezer to exchange for a Tuniq Tower. Can't get hold of Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme :(

I will add a case fan (saw one from ST, can remember the model, something silve with high cfm & low noise) & an Antec Super Cyclone Blower (is it a good idea to add this?)
