hot water might work if they are both in a not working condition...

Not sure if serious!? How does one accidentally superglue a graphics card to a motherboard? I think we need a back story...

As far as removing superglue from something, acetone (nail polish remover) will work too, not sure what it will do to the actual components though.

Right lets keep this together boys. Does anyone know if superglue remover damages plastic anymore than the superglue will have already?

isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol will work to sofften up super glue (its not the first time ive seen someone super glue something to the motherboard)
Acetone Nail polish remover is the best remmover of super glue but i am not so shure if it damages plastics.

I remember a friend bought a pc (years ago) they sent him it, he went to replace parts a while later... the company had glued every part in! Suffice to say he wasn't a happy camper.

Glued in PC parts? Sounds like something Alienware did a while back. They would use some sort of glue to stop you replacing/upgrading the parts. Although I think that was back in the GTX295 days...

I don't think it was anything quite as flashy (expensive) as an Alienware (pretty standard case), it was a long while back like 1996ish time. He was picking at the glue with a penknife/toothpick. Pretty crazy, he was fuming.

Just 1 question, Why did you superglue graphics card to a motherboard ???

i've seen that before with molex power cables on HDDs in pre built super market PCs, but never on a GPU

Acetone is often stored in plastic bottles so it will probably be fine - of course there are different types of plastics with different chemical properties though.

It IS dell. They're incredibly good at being awkward/claiming they're upgrade friendly while making sutble design choices that means the only way to upgrade is through their tech support services. They make their cases/motherboards have unique mounting points for example.

Ok here we go lemme clear your minds :D i actually gave it to a guy to repair something and apparently the heatsink on the mother board was loose so he glued it but he did that when it was vertical and a drop just went into the pcie slot, at the time i ddnt wanna remove the graphic card for anything and that guy happened to be a friend and yes that was my first and last time sending the pc out :/

In which case grab some acetone/nail varnish remover and a tiny paint brush and carefully treat the effected area be careful with surrounding plastics.

I've seen older systems from Tiny, Gateway and Dell who used to Hot glue hardware in but never with superglue...
