This is a quick guide on how to successfully post photos of your rig to the Rig Gallery. This is not a concrete guide that must be followed to the letter, but it's a good demonstration on what we're expecting from you guys.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Intro: Give us a brief rundown of your rig and the little stories behind it. Have you had the rig for long? Planning an upgrade soon? All these little details can help make the post more interesting for the other members.
Rig specifications: This is a big one, and it's one of the main reasons this guide is being made. You must include the full specifications of your rig into the original post. Having your specs in your Forum Signature is not a way to get around this.
The images: There are two ways to include images into your thread. One is to use the in-built image attachment tool that the forum provides. The other, and often more popular method, is to use image hosting sites such as http://www.imgur.com, and http://www.photobucket.com to upload your photos and use tags to embed them into the thread.
Please ensure that your images are resized to 1024x768 or smaller. This can be done in a number of ways shown in this link: http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=37499
Posting a link to another site where your rig has is exhibited is not allowed. Any images included must be able to be viewed without external links.
For example, this is not acceptable:
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb225/macrules/IMG_0490.jpg
Whereas this is:
[img]http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb225/macrules/IMG_0490.jpg
( Code: )
Reserved posts: Reserved posts, used to save a space in your Rig Gallery for future updates, are no longer allowed. This is because for as long as the reserved posts are editable, so is the OP. It makes no sense to clog the thread up with more posts. Instead, simply edit the OP and give a datestamp of when the update was made. You should also post a new comment, so as to inform others of your recent updates.
Alternatively, you can simply make new posts with all the updates included. Both ways are accepted.

Hey guys! First time posting on these forums and I thought that it would be a great opportunity to show off my most recent build with y'all
I'm still at college, so I don't have the spare money to pump into an uber rig, but I'm quite happy with how this has turned out.
I've been using this PC since around May of last year, and can honestly say that it's a great little beast. The graphics card isn't the best in the world, but for how cheap it is, and how much i've been able to overclock it, i'm supremely happy with it.
I am a part of Folding @ Home as my signature suggests, and I do leave the rig on 24/7 to crunch through those work units. It only does SMP folding, as GPU folding with AMD cards just doesn't work, and I average around 35k with it. Not too shabby, and it's allowed me to steadily climb the leaderboards!
Rig specs:
3770K @ 4.4GHz
Noctua NH-D14 with three Corsair SP120 QE fans
MSI Z77A GD65
Corsair AX850
MSI 7850 Power Edition @ 1250MHz core, 1300MHz memory
8GB Mushkin Blackline RAM @ 2133MHz
2 x 120GB Mushkin Chronos SSDs in RAID0 for the OS, programs, and games
1TB WD Green drive for everything else
Corsair M60 Mouse
The old chiclet keyboard from my long-gone iMac
Please inform me if you'd like to see any more photos, or if you have any criticisms of my build!*
Thanks for reading, and until next time.

*This is just a demo post. Please don't request more photos, as it's not going to happen!
I hope this guide will prove helpful to you, and that you'll keep to these guidelines when making your own threads.

The OC3D Staff Team.
