Here's what I've done. I'll spray it black:

The results are about the same. 1-2 degrees better at most. I session'd Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honour tonight. It been fairly warm and about 4am the central heating started. Results:

Nice! Those temps are great for gtx 480's! Even my top hd 5850's goes up to 75c sometimes and they are cool running cards since the bottom one only goes up to +-62c. The whole idea of this testing has to do with pushing as much cool air into the gpu's and is seems to work with great succes!

So many people were put off these cards without sufficient cause imo. As a public and a member, people should demand an appology for missing out

you going to use some alu sheet to make that shape the card has? would look a hell of alot better, and the shape shouldnt be too hard with some blocks of wood and a hammer, you already have the template?

hi

i think a soft plastic or bonded material, kevlar or ?????? is wiser. Metal needs to be perfectly sized for a sealed fit, and to do that is impossible for me. Metal will scratch the hardware, is conductive and transfers heat.

Suggestions please

fiberglass would be a good material and is easy to work..the metal would be ok if you edged it with rubber which can be baught for case windows, fiberglass would be easiest tho imo. make a template out of plasticard and fiberglass over it, wear gloves tho! and dont for get to sand b4 you paint

Hi. This vid is the original CRYSIS run by my GTX 480's OC @ 760 mhz, 1.075V and some on the shader and memory each. Game settings are 2xAA and everything maxed & NVIDIA Control Pannel enhancements. i5 750 @ 3.8Ghz. 1920x1080p. Recorded with FRAPS.

Temps are lower than a standard setup with stock frequencys/clocks and volts. The fan is quieter at 70%. A little later in the river forest the temps were higher. I'll edit the fan profile for this. Blimey I'll try it around 800mhz later

I'll do some tweeking try to get the 480's working harder. In that vid they're around 50-65+% active each

EDIT: I set the fans to 75%, core clocks to 800mhz and the temps were 79-80

I recorded a little massacre and I'll post the vid soon

After the vid i'm uploading now 5:30am, I continued the campaign. Here's 2 pics:

With the normal NVIDIA fan settings I think gaming this OC is impossible and I've had 101 degrees C in CRYSIS, GPU's at stock 700mhz and the fans blowing at 92% with that NVIDIA setting.

Are you using the texture mod with Crysis? if yes do you have a download link for it ?

i used a mod that said it made the game look more realistic but it doesn't though its OK to look different like the sun and moon light, some colours and stuff, but once the mods installed the files are permanantly modded.

Ye, that's one of the ones I was looking for, nice one

There's another one called "Crysis hi res texture mod" or something like that. That one changes all the textures and makes the game look even better.

I found one version but there is a beta one that does the textures for everything in the game.

Lovely textures. The colour is too gammy for my crysis liking (looks like mickey mouse land) and if I use it i'll adjust it on the monitor or install the other mod with it, maby ?
