How to get started???

Hey guys. I'm running a I7-950 and hd 6970 ... I've been invited here, and would like some links on how to get started and what to use. Running windows 7 ultimate. Thanks. I'm ready to put my mouth where my money is, been saying I'm going to join Redline. So here I am!!!

i would just use the SMP (bigadv), as the core for AMD GPUs isnt done yet and will eat your PPD from your i7.

i'm sure the team will point you in the right direction, but here is a good place to start FAH Tracker

+1 for FAH Tracker, when i have folding running its through tracker due to how simple it is

Its pretty much just a matter of installing it and telling it it can use SMP then off it goes, and as dugdiamond said ati cards arent the best to fold on and will eat into your i7's ppd for not all that many in return.

thanks guys... youre right, very quick install and folding right now. Easy to setup to how you want, using smp only since the gpu is a little more difficult, but starting my first fold! WOOOT!!!!. hopefully I can help someone

Just got the new rig and was going to ask how to check if the F@H is running off of my GPU rather than my CPU, If not how to set that up.

Then see this thread where AMD cards are not good or do not work??

My card is an AMD HD 6950. Can I fold good off of it? Maybe they have put out some kind of update or something? I obviously am not at all knowledgeable on this subject. I do not want to fold just of the CPU 24/7.

I tried that FAH tracker but it either does not accept my GPU or I just do not know what Im doing.

If you want to fold off of an AMD GPU your best bet is getting the v7 beta client straight from F@H, they also give you a guide to install it here, the download link is on the same page.
