How to disassemble a fan?

Today I tried to take a Noctua NF-P12 Fan apart in order to paint it.

This is how I did it (followed a guide from google):

I removed the sticker from the back and took out the little pallet-like magnet.

Nevertheless the fan did not pop off, as the guide said it should, so I tried with brute force and tore it apart.

However the fan was broken so I thought that I could disassemble it completely and figure out how I should take it apart properly.

I have have no clue how to take a Noctua NF-P12 fan apart so I can paint it white, anyone out there who has experience or reference to how it's done?

(Rippin' an expensive fan apart feels bad man)

Hope you fellas can help a newbie in need, cheers!

No probs, the guy who did the guide will most likely see this thread and be able to tell you how

At a guess though i'd say get a butter knife or a screw driver and genitally pop it off, but don't force it if it doesn't move.

I hope he will

Hmm.. I went over the top with the screwdriver. Mutilated the poor thing.

Thanks again

I think stock Noctua fans should be mutilated from time to time, keeps the numbers in the wild down, they are hideous after all.

@Sheroo I agree! I might take some pictures and make a conclusion when I'm done painting the fans

But I'm yet to figure out how to disassemble the Noctua fans properly.
