how to control a fileserver?

LOL i no i ask so many questions i just wanna increase my knowledge a bit and add on to my setups, well anyway i have just been given a dell dimension 4600 for free :rolleyes: , its no where near as powerful as my computer and i want to set it up as a file server to make use of its 80gig HD, sooo ill just connect it to my switch in my room with no moniter tho, but does anyone no how i can control it from my main computer in my room, like shut it down and do other things

Depends on what operating system you have on it really.

Windows Server/XP come with a remote desktop package that you can use.
