How to change Hard drive location

Hi everybody i i just recently built my first computer and im having problems changing where all my data is downloaded and stored to on my two drives i have a Asus Maximus V formula motherboard my two Drives are Corsair 120 GB SSD (OS installed on it) and my 1Tb WD at first my WD wouldn't show up on my computer but i went into computer management and set it up but I don't know how to make all my downloads and information stored onto my SSD can someone please help me

what data are you downloading, and is it through a browser?

the default download path is easily changed in all browsers.

not in a browser? what app are you using to download?

or, just windows updates? this location cannot be changed as it is required (it can, but is messes up EVERYTHING). but these files should be cleaned up regularly with disk cleanup (in accessories).

for example:
on my rigs, i have changed the system variables of ALL temporary storage (TMP; TEMP; etc) to the same eay-to-reach location (ie: c:\SYStemp). and, then once-a-week i empty it.
it keeps everything much simpler to clean

Downloading for instance steam and i try to install it on my E: drive and it says cannot install on an open drive and then i tried again copping my Programs file from my C: drive to E: drive and it says cannot install steam in folder

Google SSD Optimization guide. The simplest way to do this is to C:\Users\yourusername. Then right click on the downloads folder, and go properties and change the location to your HDD. Do this for your documents, desktop, pictures .etc

But google ssd optimiztion guide and you'll speed up your rig and get the best life out off your ssd. I would google it for you but im on my tablet.

Dont copy your program files to your E... you need that on your C. Instead when installing change the directory to E.

I just moved my downloads folder to my storage drive(500gb.),Right click in blank space downloads,then properties and location tab,You move it from there.
I created a Program files 2 & a Program Files (x86) 2 to put my games and software in(Installed Games and Software),And I moved my Documents & Downloads folders to that storage drive too.
Also I put my Music,Videos,Recorded TV, & stored software apps to my other storage drive(1tb.).
