How is my overclock.

Hello everyone.
I have not overclocked in a very long time. If you think I have been an idiot or done something completely wrong feel free to tell me :)
I am running a 3960x in a Rampage IV Extreme. The idle voltage is 1.4 to 1.408 and the voltage under load is 1.376 meaning I am experiencing v-droop. I am running at 4.7GHZ.

Thanks
Iain :)

Lower voltage will help your CPU live a little longer and drop your temps. Would look at lowering your idle voltage, should be happy at around 1.35v. Do you have your voltage manually set?

4.7ghz was about all I could manage with my 3970x temp wise (using a H110). Anything higher was perfectly stable but too hot.

Thanks

Clock is good, just needs refining, you shouldnt see any droop though

Thank you For your input. :) For some reason when ever I hard shutdown the machine, when I turn back on the machine it says overclocking failed. If I just go into the bios and hit save everything works fine.

If you press and hold the power button off rather than a clean shut down that is normal dude. The board cant tell the difference between that and an overclock failure
